Rest in peace...

Ніщо так сильно не ранить мозок, як уламки скла від розбитих рожевих окулярів

There is nothing so hurtful for the brain as splinters of broken rose-coloured spectacles.

It's especially hard moment when test pilots die. They are priceless people. A plane you can built but to become a test pilot takes years of studies and training.

"See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is. If you don't know you shouldn't be flying." - Chuck Yeager, from the back seat of F-15D at age 89.

This will only make this plane better. That's what it is all about.

A tragedy, but soon everything will be allright.

Tears to be gone, and heads to be up,

Mr. Cooley will look from above and he will like that.

Wish his spirit and machine's all good flying on the other side!

An F-22 crashed at Nellis Air Force Base in December 2004. The pilot successfully ejected. All USAF F-22s were grounded for two weeks after the crash, but resumed operations after a review was completed.
And now after 25 March crash I can't find any piece of information about grounded F-22s. Is it not unusual? In Russia in last time after almost all plane crashes a planes of the same type were grounded for week or two, like it happens with L-39s after fatal crash in 03-18-2009 near Krasnodar-city (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=39487 ).

Yeah Namenlos, if they know enough of the cause to know that it is not a threat to the other aircraft they wouldn't ground them. Not said that they would let us lowlife civvies and foreigners know tho. :P

If the pilot went too far in his manuever, usualy in contact with the tower, there might be indications that there werent of the aircraft iself, otherwise the pilot would have reported it and the other planes would have stayed grounded for anomaly corrections.

Another intriguing asspect is that I read at F-16.net that apparently the pilot didnt try to eject and was carried to the hospital. Wich leads me to believe that the plane might have crashed from low altitude. The pilot tried to save the aricrat till the last minute?

Has the investigation ended? Anyone knows what happened?

This investigations take months, if not years. They look at every maintenance action done on the aircraft in last several months. Ensure all personnel that work on it and that the pilots had all required training. They go through the wreckage, etc.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Why would they publish probable cause if there isnt any idea what happened? For all they know the pilot had a heart attack.

Where do you find this information?
