Edit countermeasures count in ME

Hello,

 

Is there a way to amend the number of chaffs and flares we want to spawn with in the mission editor? (it is grayed out)

The only thing you can do is to choose wheter you want to give it an Eclair pod or not. The chaff and flare slider / fields are fixed, thus grayed out.

TL;DR:

You change the amount of chaff and flare carried by choosing different Eclair pod loadouts.

Detail:

You can not change the amount carried internally (112 chaff / 16 flares), however the Eclair/Eclair-M counter measure pods have different chaff/flare loadouts to choose from. The exact amount of chaff and flare carried can be confirmed via the kneeboard.

You can attach a pod on pylon 10 if you want more, with 108 chaff , 48 flares, or a mix.

The DCS decoy system being too limited to properly model the M-2000C, the amount is overridden by internal code and thus changing values in lua does not work.

hmm, strange, in the ME, i have 112 chaffs / 48 flares without any pods. You mentioned 16 flares?
We doing pvp so we want everyone to have 30 flares only...any way this could be achievable?

Sounds like you may be using a very old mission as the Mirage 2000C mission editor default should be 234 chaff / 64 flares i.e. the maximum allowable of each type, this is NOT the same as the amount carried/dispensable.

This is explained in the DCS M-2000C Manual on page 375 

Quote

CAUTION

Due to a DCS limitation, the chaff and flare quantity sliders can still be edited from the editor and rearm window. DO NOT change the default values, it will always result in a fewer decoy quantity than expected.

The decoy slider values should set to 234 chaffs and 64 flares when rearming and not match the actual load.

The closest you can get to 30 flares is by equipping either :-
• the older Eclair pod adds 16 flare and 16 chaff = total loadout of 32 flare / 128 chaff.

or
• the newer Eclair-M pod with a 2/4 loadout of 16 flare and 72 chaff = total loadout of 32 flare / 184 chaff

You can't fit a partially filled decoy cartridge i.e. a 8 shot flare cartridge with only 6 flares.

Ahh okay so If I got right, actually what I will get upon spawning is 16 flares with no pods which is the internal loadout (regardless of what the grayed out value shows in the ME..?

Then if so, I would simply add a pod for 16 more flares to get 32 flares as you suggested.
