Mouse Cursor Fade Option

Is there a way to make the mouse cursor fade from view when not in use then appear again once the mouse is moved again?

 

It can be really annoying to have the yellow cross cursor sitting in the middle of your HUD.

Left alt+c lets it disappear altogether IIRC.
