Hi !!

I have a big problem playing Lomac with 2 pcs over a router at the same time.

Both systems have their own Lomac-version ( one english, one german ) and connect via hyperlobby - Everything seems to be ok as long as both systems don´t connect to the same server - As soon as i connect to the same server with both pcs the game doesn´t seem to be able to route the data-packages to the right pc. As a result both planes can´t lock or fire any weapons and the system that was 2nd to connect shows only the plane in the parking area but can´t transmit any movement data to the other connected clients.

I tried to range the used DirectX - ports but this doesn´t seem to have any effects with Lomac. I use the Netgear WGT 624 router, both systems have Win XP Pro as OS.

Anyone out there who has some helpful ideas how to solve this problem ??

Thx

Hi all.

Just to clarify, you and a friend are playing online at Hyperlobby from distance, not within the same room. So you cannot simply link each PC directly to the other? Or, are you in the same room and trying to play online against others? I apologize if these are far-out questions but I have been awake for more than 24 hrs, and it maybe starting to affect my comprehension. -KILSEK

Not something you can solve - it's a basic network routing issue and might be solvable f the port ranges were more configurable, thus allowing you to forward different ports to each computer, but that also depends on the server as well. You probably can't fix this.

Devs?

I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

@ Kilsek : The 2 pcs are placed in 2 different houses ( around 5 m away from each other ). We try to play together as 2 clients, mostly on our dedicated server ( which is setup on a serverfarm - so it has a totally different connection

make sure 10308 tcp and udp is open in and out for all pcs on the lan

instead of using a specific ip adress try 0.0.0.0

As has been stated, Port 10308 must be enabled for TCP and UDP in forwarding setup and if 0.0.0.0 doesn't work, figure out IP's for each (windows command prompt - TYPE IN: ipconfig /all). Example: first PC IP is 192.168.1.101 and second is 192.168.1.102. Just make sure both are enabled.

The problem almost sure is not of your reouter since your router acting as a nat router shouldn´t have problems to router outbound/inbound packts, despite they come to the same ports (the port from your point of view is not much important since the nat router uses secuence numbers to identify wich machine eachs packet belongs to. The problem is at the server, where he can only see 1 IP, and so can´t identify your 2 machines, and so, he is just sending and receiveing information from "1" pc and 1 only.
