GunSlingerAUS Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 The thread says it all - this weekend it's time for the big reformat of my PC. Just wondering if there's a guide to back up my install of DCS so that activation doesn't become an issue? Esac_mirmidon Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Use your Quick Start Manual in the Doc folder. A very good description how to activate and deactivate the simulator. EtherealN Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I believe it's not supposed to trigger a new activation as long as you use the same name on the machine afterwards and hasn't changed any hardware. Even a limited hardware change should be allright. There is a post somewhere with the exact calculation the system uses to figure out when new activations is needed. Acedy Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Reinstalling your OS will force you to reactivate BS, so you should use a deactivation before wiping your HD. As mirmidon said above, refer to the QS manual. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] *** SERVMAN SERVER MANAGEMENT MOD V2 FOR DCS:BS V1.0.1 *** *** VERSION FOR FC2 ***
EtherealN Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 It does? I've seen the opposite said several times on these forums, but allright, I'll defer to authority on that since I haven't done it myself.
