Is the VTB BUT (Waypoint) Display Working?

Does this still work? As described on page 265 I tried to do this recently and it didn’t do anything.

”TACTICAL BUT DISPLAY
Select the BUT to display on the VTB as a tactical BUT as PREP.
Press the VAL to display the tactical but.
Once a tactical BUT is displayed it can be removed by doing the same procedure.
Trying to add a sixth tactical BUT will replace the first.
All tactical BUTs can be removed at once using VTB declutter command.”

I got it, I think you can't add waypoints before the system finishes aligning.
