I've not pinned down which switch is causing the jettison, but its definitely on the weapons panel, possibly the pylon select switch which was the last thing I selected before I noticed the rocket pods had fallen off on my run-in. Will try to replicate in SP and the other variants when I have some time.

And have you bound your jettison button to any keys? I have noticed that the binds for the jettison covers and buttons still work when you're typing in the chat in multiplayer which can cause a surprise
