Would be pretty funny to see what would have happened if a big chunk of F-15E buyers managed to, post purchase, pull back 50% of what they paid and told the powers that be "Until certain criteria are met our payments will no longer be supported"🤣

The highly enriched, weapons grade freak out that would have erupted would have been spectacular! to watch. I mean an angry supernova collapsing into a furious black hole level freak out. Earthquakes, tornadoes, cats lying with dogs. It would have been cosmic.

By comparison, I think we're being pretty good about it. :smoke:

Completely disagree.

With an established product like DCS, with a long history of EA module releases. there is a reasonable expectation of continued support. Sometimes prompt, sometimes not so prompt. But at no point is there an expectation of official abandonment of a module, much less an entire set of modules. If that were anywhere in the ballpark of being an accepted sales practice, nobody would buy anything.

You can disagree all you want.
You are buying a product that is not complete from a 3rd party developer.
You buy Early Access (Alpha) products at your own risk.
You can't turn around and say oh give me my money back because the 3rd party developer did or didn't do something out of a breach of contract.
Go read the ToS then if you don't believe me.
You did not buy "DCS" DCS World is Free to Play.
You purchase the Modules to use in the game again which is 100% free.
If those modules fall under a 3rd party that is not willing to cooperate then that is not on the fault of ED.
You are still not intitled to a refund because again you purchased a product knowingly it was unfinished.
You also agreed to the ToS when it clearly states no refunds.
So no, no one owes you anything.

M2000, AV-8B and Mig-19 are out of early access and now unsupported.

Well as unfortunate as that is.
I was referring directly to the 15E not prior modules that are completed.
Though I also stand by my point, is that again, you buy Early access at your own risk.
Now if these planes become completely broke, I know the M2000 can't pull past 6G because of the limiter break.
If these planes do become unplayable/broken, then yes ED though they aren't going to issue refunds, should at least compensate by giving the products worth of miles into people's accounts, or offer some kind of trade program.

I think you are wholesale misrepresenting Early Access.  It's 'at your own risk' because you are getting what could be a potentially bugged product - but it's marketed as a working copy of a more complete product down the line.  No where in the EA model, to my knowledge, with ED does it say it can just disappear and that is wholly on the buyer.

At this point I don't care who is at fault (both parties in my opinion), the simple fact is that the DCS community is completely losing faith in ED. It seems to me that this will cost more in the long run for ED. The appearance is ED is cutting off the nose to spite the face. This has gone on long enough; the customers are pissed. It is adversely affecting ED, RB, other 3rd party devs, peripheral companies and most importantly the customers. Rumors have even started about ED stability. Why would I as a consumer want to purchase anything else if some these rumors are true? The longer this goes on and the fact that ED is so silent about it, doesn't help the situation. It could be for legal reason, I don't care, it still doesn't help.

IF ED is able to move forward, it needs to be transparent and outline to its customers how they are going to prevent this from happening again. Reassure the community that the products they purchased will continued to be maintained.

It is past time for this to come to an end. ED is hemorrhaging customers and potential new customers. This is not a good look. Your customers do not care who is at fault, it's time to put them first, and fix the problem. I care deeply about this community and want it to survive and grow, but at this point I have my doubts.

Respectfully,

Whoa! I'm not losing faith in ED as are others. Don't make the mistake of speaking for others. This is not a life changing event; it is a legal matter, and the over dramatizing is wild. The claim of ED hemorrhaging customers is more drama. Most have plenty of modules. Users will talk a lot but will not abandon those modules. New modules just got released and users are using them. Straight wild!

the fact that after 12 years its still seeing updates is awesome, even if it hasnt been touched for 6 months. Windows 10 hasnt even lasted that long.

Ok, so you lost 60 bucks betting on the wrong horse...Some say they'll not buy another thing?  What else are you nerds going to do?  Are you going to forsake DCS for a bunch of pending dates with hot women?  No, so suck it up buttercups.

Can you translate that into English please.

let them have their heart attack by stressing out over things they cant control. the longer they gripe here, the longer they arent flying in DCS being toxic there.

people need to realize that buying things Early Access comes with liabilies, and Razbam modules just qualified that life experience; some people never think itll never happen to them. It did, all they can hope for is that something gets worked out...but should expect the worst moving forward. Its on them if they dont see it that way.

I wasn't trying to speak for other, but I am noticing that MANY customers are putting on hold any future purchases from ED and yes some of it will be all talk, but still, some of it will not. That is a symptom of losing faith in the future support of modules that ED sells. No, it's not life changing event for me as a customer, but it could be for ED if they lose too many customers. It's a wakeup call.
