Boberro Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Hope it is really far better than TiR 4, and not so common advert when differences would be small compared to previous product. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ

Grimes Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Aaaaaahh, I was hoping they would have added the ever so elusive "7th Degree of Freedom" :D I wonder if the higher resolution would be noticeable. rapid Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Is there any good reason to upgrade to version 5 over 4? hitman Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Same here ^^...be looking to replace my old TIR4 since mines getting worn out.
theGozr Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 "since mines getting worn out" Are you sure is not your neck !!! ;) TrackIR5 do not look to much of a leap vs the TRACKIR4 imo Fly it like you stole it..
PeterP Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 (edited) Why you want a 8cylinder car when you have already a 4cylinder car that does the job?! I think its a similar question you have to answer when you want to move from TrackIR 4 to a 5. But it is good to know that you have more power and you can use it when there is the need of it. A plus of accuracy and light filtering means that you will have less jitter and you can move further away without loosing precision. Edit: @ Hitman How can a TrackIR4 be worn out ?- just curious :) Edited May 1, 2009 by PeterP
rapid Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I good read up on it seems to have more of the same really like more pixels better resulotion and better field of view. RedTiger Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 How about another BUMP! Is this really much better than TIR4? Don't get me wrong, I'd certainly get whatever version is the most up to date if I don't have it. The only real improvement to me would be the field of view. There have been times where I've tried to lean close and look at something in Black Shark and Free Falcon and reached the limit of its detection area.

deadsmell Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 The real question is, where is the "full reveal" Arma 2 video that dslyecxi says was supposed to be uploaded for our viewing pleasure last night? Jeez louise, the footage he showed in that teaser vid was better than any of the official teaser vids that have been released so far. I Hope it really looks that good. Dont let the smell get to ya...............
Vekkinho Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Definitely worth trying, so I will try it ASAP! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

TBH, I see no reason to upgrade at all. TrackIR4 is enough by all means, it's a "one time buy" product, and it doesn't "wear out" as others suggest :)

TrackIR4 is enough by all means, it's a "one time buy" product, and it doesn't "wear out" as others suggest :) hey thanks erdem, but i dont think thats the video he was talking about, at least i hope not. You tube says the vid that you linked to above, was posted on the 27th, and the other teaser vid was posted on the 29th, and thats the one that says the full reveal will be posted april 30th. Maybe im misunderstanding. anyway yeah, I agree, im not in any hurry to upgrade to track ir 5. I will probably take advantage of the new software though. Im still surprised that they didnt improve the design of the track clip pro, in my opinion that device needs a major design overhaul. They should make it run on lithium batteries or something, I dont even use mine because i dont like having those extra wires attached to my face. I guess im just funny that way. Am I crazy, or is it a major blunder to have those extra wires hogging up an extra usb port, just to power those led's? Curious what you guys think, because I was really dissapointed when I got mine and realized that it was a wired set up. I just use the vector clip. 1 Dont let the smell get to ya...............
HansRoaming Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 As a complete TrackIR noob what is the best thing to buy so I don't have to use headphones. Much prefer using the speakers than headphones and if I could clip this onto head mounted boom mike or hat this would be ideal. Any help would be appreciated.
104th_Crunch Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 (edited) The TrackIR4 and 5 come with a clip that attaches to the front of the hat. The Trackclip pro which is extra $ is a headphone clip. Edited May 2, 2009 by Crunch
Rikus Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 If you have TIR 3 or lower, it´s ok for improve to 5 or 4 at good price. If we have TIR 4, it´s not clever to upgrade, money waste Just my 2 pens Greetings
