For the life of me, I can’t figure out how to use the M4. I can unstow it, but can’t move it once it is shouldered.

I’ve tried L Alt-C to no avail, tried the mouse, etc.

I am in VR. (Quest 3). Anyone have any ideas?

Try Left Alt+C. Toggles cursor mode.

Yep, I gave that a shot. It makes the yellow mouse indicator disappear / reappear, but doesn't change my inability to move / aim / fire the gun.

One more thing: try to change any other mappings involving "MOUSE BTN 2"

Interesting, I'll check to see if I have mouse btn 2 bound to anything else this evening.

The controls are actually somewhat weird for this. By default, "MOUSE 2" is bound to "switch down" for flip switches. It is a general binding.

For whatever reason, I cannot get the aim-down sights to work. I can only unstow the weapon, and fire it semi-blindly. Using VR btw.

One thing I wonder about in addition, if you use up the M4 ammunition and RTB for rearming, upon opening the rearm-window, the "ammunition" shows 50% left. That is without any the M3P attached.

I do have hand controllers for the Quest 3, and while they are connected and awake, I don't use them for anything. Could they be conflicting with something?

If DCS VR settings are set to not use hand controllers, it'll completely ignore them. I enabled them and the M4 works great with my rift s. Click on the rear dash mount for the rifle and it'll unstow and snap to the hand positions. Right trigger to fire, reloads are automatic. The only weirdness is restowing, it won't go back into the mount from your pov. I bound stow/unstow to a free hotas button and I keep the rifle pointing out the door. So it's still floating there in 1st person bug out of the way.

I believe the mouse controls are designed for 2D, so wouldn't expect them to work in VR at all

I get crashes if I use vr controllers to grab the M4. And the cyclics in the cockpit goes crazy.

It works really nicely with the mouse or a trackball, actually far nicer than with leap motion currently.  Essentially treat it like any mounted door gun but with a slightly more limited range of movement 🙂

Just one mag with 150 rounds.
