saunder Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 After my initial issues with getting Black Shark to work and being informed to downgrade my Ati driver to 8.12 yes it worked and fantastic simulator, but after having to reinstall the latest drivers to test out an issue with another game and down grade back to 8.12 I cannot get Black Shark to start up again even with vers 8.12 I have uninstalled and reinstalled Black Shark but still no go.I just get the message below. Any help would be appreciated.. Thank you [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i9-9900K - Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master Motherboard - Nvidia RTX 3090 - 64gb Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200MHz - Win 10 64bit - Reverb G2
saunder Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 This is starting to get frustrating now, I have had no response to this thread and have tried to reinstall Black Shark into a clean windows 32 installation with 8.12 ATI drivers and still no go, I just keep getting the message as above. Kuky Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I wouldn't have a clue. If you reinstalled Windows and reinstalled exact same driver and software as before that worked, I have no idea what it wouldn't work again after reinstalling. No longer active in DCS...
Panzertard Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 (edited) You might want to provide a bit more details about your computer, not sure if everyone knows what you are running (cpu / mem / os etc). Not that I know much about ATI general issues, but I do know there has been some issues regarding driver problems, and the need to clean out and reinstall the drivers. This is normally a "last resort". Read more about such here over at AMD/ATI As well as just getting rid of anamolies, do a diskcheck (no surface scans, but a normal automaticly fix problems). Sometimes you can have minor errors in the index/filetables, and it may cause all sorts of odd problems. If you want to do the diskcheck via command prompt: CHKDSK c: /f Or if you have your games at the D: drive:, check that one as well as the system disk: CHKDSK d: /f EDIT: If you're Overclocking, return to default speeds - O/C might cause such issues too. saunder Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 I have had Black Shark working with 8.12 drivers but unfortunately had to switch to 9.4 to try and resolve another issue with other software, unfortunately switching back to 8.12 and using driver sweeper it started coming up with the above error message so I have reinstalled Vista 32 on another hard drive and intalled 8.12 only to find I still get the same problem. I have catalyst AI switched off. S D Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Have you tried using a driver cleaner, to make sure you have all the old ATI drivers off your system? Failing that it might be time to think about moving off Vista my friend. I have a HD 4870 X2 aswell, i run Win7 64 RC1 with the latest ATI Win7 drivers. Everything works perfectly.

EtherealN Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 See if you can find something akin to "error.log" or "errors.log" in C:\Games\BlackShark\Temp (or equivalent location, depending on where you have DCS installed). saunder Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 The thing is with this is that it's not only not working on my setup, but I set up a new install of vista on a clean hard drive and that meant a complete new install of 8.12 drivers and I re-downloaded black shark to make sure it was not a corrupt install file. but still the same problem.
