Orford Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I assume that amazon link is legit can a ED member confirm. Are they waiting to get the pre-sales to a certain level before doing a print run. If ED can post here and confirm its a legitamate amazon sale then you got another 3 pre-orders waiting for me and 2 of my friends.
ED Team JimMack Posted May 7, 2009 ED Team Posted May 7, 2009 I assume that amazon link is legit can a ED member confirm. Are they waiting to get the pre-sales to a certain level before doing a print run. If ED can post here and confirm its a legitamate amazon sale then you got another 3 pre-orders waiting for me and 2 of my friends. The manuals have been printed and are on their way to warehouses in the the USA, UK, and Australia. Given shipping time to each country, and shipping within a country, expect availability in Amazon etc in 2 weeks. Having problems? HitchHikingFlatlander Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 A friend told me that the manual will have additional chapters and obviously this is true at least by Amazon's info of 500+ pages. My question is will the extra chapters be added to the end of the original manual or will it be a newer updated manual? Reason I ask is that I just printed the manual put in dividers and bound in a binder, and want to know if I'll need to re-print the manual if I dont purchase the spiral bound version. No big deal in either case as I was told it may be a little different but I wanted to have a manual in the meantime anyways. http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad

I think Matt uploaded the contents page of the Hardcopy manual a while ago. It is similar but it seems stuff had been added throughout the manual not just at the end. Nate Edit :- Dammit! Now you've made me go and pre order it. Edit 2:- Matt's post and Table of contents http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=39994&highlight=manual Edited May 7, 2009 by Nate--IRL-- Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
HitchHikingFlatlander Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Thanks for the link Nate! I guess I'll be re-printing no big deal. I know I should have waited and was told I should probably wait but I wanted it, I wanted it, I wanted it now lol! http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
hawkhero Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I just got BS this week. I was ready to print the Manuel but saw it's coming out thru Amazon.com in 2 weeks with more added! Is it going to be printed in color or black and white? Greg

HitchHikingFlatlander Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Really no need for it to be in color pictures come thru either way but its personal preference if your printing it yourself though I'd like to print out color chapter pages just for the cool factor. Not sure I'll do it though....... http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
Orford Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Thanks for the confimation will be placing my order soon.
coder1024 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 http://www.amazon.com/Ka-50-Black-Shark-Attack-Helicopter/dp/0956183603/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1241828584&sr=1-1 I printed the manual, but will definitely order this. From skimming the TOC and considering the page count, it looks like this has much more than what was provided in the PDFs with the game. blaster454 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 If the manual is in fact on the way to distributors, I wonder why amazon.com (US) is not listing it for pre-order and has no availability date. Can ED "clue them in" so we can pre-order like the guys in the U.K.? BaD CrC Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Simware (http://www.simw.com) is pre selling it with ETA 15th May. But the description is a bit disturbing: "Ka-50 Black Shark Manual as available in the game in pdf format, is now available as a ring binder manual. Content : 536 pages." Hopefully, it is the augmented version as advertised by ED and not just a print out of the pdf manual. Anyway, I think the pdf file is less than 536 pages. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
hawkhero Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I might wait until the 15th and see if Amazon.com has it. If not I'll order from the UK

Pretty sure just the flight manual in game is 350+ pages with the GUI it might come out that much. Actually thats a good question that may have been asked already. Is the printed manual going to have the GUI manual in it as well or just the flight manual with extra chapters? I printed the GUI manual too and the total page count (also w/ flight manual, Key command and HOTAS layout) is around 600 pages give or take. http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad

coder1024 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 The page counts for the PDF files which come with the game are: Flight Manual - 383 pages GUI Manual - 162 pages If you look at the TOC posted here, the printed manual is clearly the flight manual with a lot more content (536 pages). The GUI stuff is not included. Anyway, all that to say, if Simware is saying the page count is 536 its most likely the same one not just a printout of the PDFs which come with the game.
