Owl Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 How do Ka-50 Black Shark calculate the percent completed in each mission? I ask, because I have seen a lot of times, that you have, for instance, 45% completed, and then 2 minutes later, you only have 35% completed. I have to be honest, I nearly never complete a mission 100%, but does the above means, in that situation, you will never reach 100%? I thought the completed mission percents, was how many of the primary targets you hit, but it may be more than just that, or....? Regards Owl
nemises Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 there are many things that can be used to determin + or - completion %ge.... certain units in an area, or not in an area, certain units dead or alive or damaged, certain units above or below a certain altitude etc etc.... all of these things can be set to add or take away %completed ... so say for eg you start on 50% , but after 10 minutes it may drop to %40 because a friendly unit was destroyed that you were supposed to keep alive etc.. It all depends on how the mission is set up by the mission builder ..
slug88 Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 It's completely up to the mission designer to decide how the completion is determined. in the GOW missions, generally killing more of the enemy increases your score, while losing friendlies decreases it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
EtherealN Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 It should also be noted that in the GOW missions that percentage is not a measure of whether you have fullfilled your specific mission or not - it measures the entire progress (or failure) of all your side's forces (which you will of course have an effect on). So changes to it can be entirely unrelated to you, and you shouldn't really force yourself to always aim for 100%. It's nice and all, but in the GOW campaign that can sometimes be a bit like having the ambition to fight the entire war on your own instead of just doing your part. :P [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
GGTharos Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Do not look at the %. Try to complete the mission to the best of your abilities while considering your objectives - ie, protecting your own forces, destroying enemy forces, etc. Again, do not look at the % if you can help it, or at the very least, do not struggle to attain 100%. It'll just drive you mad, and it's not a realistic way to gauge your own performance. For an analysis of 'what happened' used tacview. ;) How do Ka-50 Black Shark calculate the percent completed in each mission? Owl Posted May 12, 2009 Author Posted May 12, 2009 All right, I think I get it. I have only flown the original missions in black Shark. By the way, if a missions primary target for instance are, lets say, 8 T72 tanks, do you then use time and weapon on other vechiles near by. I mean, there are always trucks, fueltrucks and so, in the groups, and they are off course harmless, but do they count "points" in the missions? That are you doing? Are you kill all vechiles, or....? Regards Owl
GGTharos Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 No, they do count towards your personal kill count, but not necessarily towards points. Some of those vehicles might have a bonus hidden in them but this is relatively unlikely. If you want to pretend to be a real Ka-50 pilot, just carry out your mission and go home. It's more boring that way of course ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
EtherealN Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 for me it's the ' key, but I use a swedish keyboard so that might not be correct for you. It's one of the keys immediately left of the enter/return key. koyan Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 i always order my wingman to attack mission objectives. That almost always gave me 100% completion.
