I made a video showing a couple of bugs that keep giving me a hard time when flying the Jf-17.


Bugs and "frustrations" that I have noticed:
 

Pod image - Brightness and contrast don’t work properly in VR.
Pod doesn’t slave to waypoint sometimes.
Pod loses target lock.
Pod can’t keep lock (on terrain).
Pilot body when???

I posted in the Deka's JF-17 session, but nobody answered so I hid it and posted it again here. Not sure where the correct place is. Sorry about that. And thank you for your consideration Flappie. I appreciate it.

I'm sorry Flappie, but some of the bugs have been reported quite a while ago, and if we compare other modules' patchnotes, JF-17 does look neglected.

Yes, I can confirm that most of the issues in this video do exist, but what's very difficult is that I can't reproduce them accurately. It will only happen by chance, and when we try again, the problem does not exist. This may require more cases or TRK files for operation.

Developers need to conduct more detailed research.

I've noticed that sometimes the WMD pod doesn't ground stabilise within its 21 nm threshold. I tried to replicate but frustratingly works from an air start. It happens in SP 'sometimes' from a cold start. Very frustrating. I will try to recreate it.

Hi, I tested the WMD tpod in SP from an automatic cold start (no mods).

The problem seems to be that the pod does not lock (or appears not to ground stabilise) the target area of the waypoint. It seems snap to another area of the ground.

For this test I ground stabilised where the camera actually snapped to, then I moved the camera to the actual target area. Very clunky, especially in the heat of battle. Maybe this is normal behaviour, but  it's a change to previous versions. If this is a bug, it's been like this for a while.

Note: the off-set maybe even wider in some missions, I can't really know. Maybe just seemed like that with the pod zoomed in.

Anyway trk & mission file attached.

I've also just had a session where if I did an area or point track once by tgp, I would no more be able to slave tgp to waypoints. It's as if I was unable to undesignate the tgp target. Slaving still worked fine if I designated target by radar.

Hi everyone,

I keep having the issues shown in the video. And I can consistently reproduce them.

Is there news about fixes? Can I help by providing more information?

This aircraft is great but the POD issues make it very disappointing to fly A/G.

Hi, did this fix the tpod issue in AG. I'm still having an issue locking the ground at the waypoint even though i'm within parameters.

I seem to be able to ground stabilise the tpod in 'wide view'. Then I'm able to move it about.

It is making AG operations extremely difficult Anyone else having this issue?

@uboats Here's a track of tgp losing track. After that the slav option stops working until I press TDC depress to select a new target. In the track I tried:

- select wpt 40 and then slav

- copy wpt 40 to 41 (markpoint) and then slav

- copy wpt 40 to 04 and 02 and then slav for any of those

- select wpt 01 and then slav

Later I press TDC to select a new target and the tgp starts to work again.
