Spadje Posted August 31 Posted August 31 This is still happening, had to turn the polling rate to 250, Logitech G903. When set to 1000 stutters horribly when mouse is moved in cockpit or in any external view. 500 helps a little but still stutters, 250 is its happy place.... 2 AMD Ryzen 9 3900x, 64GB DDR 4, MSI Ventus 2070 Super, Samsung 970 M.2 NVMe, WD Blue 512GB SSD, TM Warthog, CH Pro Pedals, Acer AH101 WMR
Kbu Posted September 18 Posted September 18 @BIGNEWY Please remove the fixed tag, as the issue is not fixed and appears worse than before. I had to drop my mouse polling rate to 125Hz for the stuttering to stop completely. 1
JediMaster Posted October 28 Posted October 28 THANK ALL OF YOU. My performance recently had utterly tanked and until a day ago I hadn't linked it to my mouse movements. Then I had the FPS counter while in the cockpit and noticed moving it was causing the dips, then that it happened even in F2 view panning (but kb panning was smooth). Finally a browser search led me to polling rates but it only recommended 1kHz instead of 8 which didn't fix it. Now I dropped it to 500Hz for my Razer Deathadder and behold! It's smooth again! I had uninstalled Razer Synapse years ago because I heard it had other issues, hopefully none of them are still around with their newer version. I would uninstall it again but I'm not 100% convinced the polling rate won't reset to 1 or 8 since the hardware-only long button press only swaps between those 2 values while the software offers 1, 2, 4, 8, 500, and 125Hz. I don't even use VR, just a 1440p display and noticed moving the mouse made CPU and GPU utilization drop from near 100% to below 50%! Stutter city... 2
DrShaw Posted October 29 Posted October 29 @JediMaster it will keep happening even at 500Hz. It happens at 250Hz, it's just less pronounced and only happens about 1 in every 3 launches of the game but it's completely random. To verify, as soon as you get to the main menu, bring up the fps counter and move the mouse in the main menu.. if no cpu activity or fps drops, you got lucky on that launch! If you get fps dips and cpu activity spikes.. relaunch and cross your fingers again. 1
JediMaster Posted November 5 Posted November 5 Yes I've lowered it now to 125 because even 500 was too much last week. It didn't occur to me to try to exit and come back if it's doing it without making other changes, though. Silly me, assuming it was a constant cause and effect situation. I will see what happens tonight I suppose.
rfxcasey Posted November 18 Posted November 18 (edited) Try deleting your 'fxo' and 'metashaders2' folders in your 'User\Saved Games\DCS' folder, which you should be doing after every update anyways. Seems to have fixed it for me, it had been a while since I last flew and I forgot. Everything is back to normal now so far, smooth as glass. My current mouse polling is 3200. DrShaw Posted November 19 Posted November 19 Give it a few launches. I’m sure it will rear its head again without rhyme or reason. I now believe it’s not the polling rate that causes the problem.. but the polling rate causing CPU spikes is a symptom of whatever the bigger problem is with certain, random, launches of the game.
JediMaster Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I have noticed it again even at 125. I delete all the shaders after every major update (ie 2.9.21->2.9.22) and still it did it again the first time I loaded up once it finished. This is about as frustrating as watching "experts" on the news. 1

I ask this because i use the command "HUD_MFD_after_DLSS = true" and i think this only happens when i have that line enabled. I although i need to do further testing over the weekend.
