Squiggs Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 If we check the "Civil aircraft" tick box in the editor we get a Huey without the gunsights (I'm talking about that stuff that hangs in front of the pilots). But as soon as we add door gunners it adds the sights back in (despite there being no need for them). Is there a way to remove the gunsights when we are not carrying rockets or forward firing guns but still retain the door gunners? 2
TKhaos Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 (edited) There's a switch on the side of the gunsights for the power and and handle on the front for moving it up and down, so it you don't want it just stow it away. There's keybindings as well, just look for Gunsight in the settings and you can operate pilot and co-pilot sights, can't remember the default keys as I use my HOTAS. That way you can still have everything such as door gunners and the front sights are stowed away. This should give you the default commands: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/93212-dcs-world-keyboard-charts/ and this might be helpful in general: https://chucksguides.com/aircraft/dcs/uh-1h/ Edited July 27, 2024 by TKhaos
Squiggs Posted July 28, 2024 Author Posted July 28, 2024 I know you can move them out of the way but I want to get rid of them altogether. Flying from the left seat, even with the sight stowed it blocks a lot of vision. 2

In that case then the answer is probably no unless someone has created a mod that removes it, or gives the option to remove it. I just had a look on mine, don't normally fly from co-pilot's seat but see what you mean about it being so bulky. I tried it in the Bristows version which is civilian and it's in there as well. Maybe ED can add that option at some point.
