Anyone tried this already?

Well I did and it is not good so far.  Coming from an intel setup I was not expecting much improvement but from my reserach it seemed it would provide a better gaming platform.

No gain whasoever in GPU performance anywhere.  CPU performance droping in some cases and even by 35% in 3DMark TimeSpy CPU test!!

In DCS I am experiencing a slight degradation in performance but stutters as soon as I move my head. Very anoying.

I have a few more things to try to tweek but looks like I will have to fresh re-install 23h2 as there is no going back without fresh install.  Damn.

My advice: If you are on intel, do not update to 24H2 now.

Why would you expect a performance increase? Not updating Windows has consequences most people aren't willing to accept.

And updating also has consequences it seems.  Particularly early updating.😉

Is this POS 'recall' included with it?   Perhaps it's already recording your secret moves in game 😄

You'll be able to disable it.  In fact you should already go through all the Privacy settings and turn a bunch off now.  Recall is just the latest thing that tracks activity, there's stuff there already like Activity History.

Back on 23H2 and stutters gone! Unfortunately, I had to "fresh Win11 install", took me two days to get back in DCS but wow, very smooth and stable.  Stay away from 24H2, for a while at least...

Good point.  In any case I do not regret doing a fresh install, in some cases I am getting better CPU performance up to 10%.  It's amazing how windows is slowing down after some time.  My last fresh install was about 1.5 years ago and despite being carfull with maintaining the system, it slowed down noticeably.

Decided to revisit 24H2, now that it is more mature.  Good results so far, average drop in GPU frametime of 0.3ms and also CPU frametime going down by 0.4ms.  This is using Nvidia 566.14 driver along with preset E for DLSS.  I also removed Process Lasso and not seeing any degradation or stutters, 24H2 seems much better at "spreading the load" and giving priority to games.

I've been on 24H2 for about 2 weeks now and haven't noticed any problems with performance (on non DCS stuff).  Then again performance was also good before that.

Oh, I don't run MS Outlook ;) or any other office type of stuff so I'm good... for now.

I did a complete W11 Pro reinstall a couple of days ago and 24H2 went in yesterday. I now get mostly "CPU Bound, Main Thread" instead of "CPU Bound, Rendering Thread". Decently smooth on the deck, using exclusively the Crystal's Quadviews etc.
