Hi guys,

I'm still fairly new to DCS and on a steep learning curve! I haven't played for a while but when I launch DCS I now get the following error:

"The following DLCs are not authorised and will be disabled: F/A-18C"

I purchased this aircraft in July 2022 and had been previously flying it with no problems. Now it does not appear in my game.

Any ideas how I fix this issue or how I bring it to the attention of the powers that be? Obviously I have paid for a product that I can not use at the moment which is very frustrating!

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks,

Mikka

It's probably your Anti-Virus solution that has incorrectly quarantined some of the files. Personally I use the free Defender included with Windows. I have excluded the DCS core folders and my Saved Games so I do not have this issue, and the game loads faster.

Hi @MAXsenna,

Thanks for the reply. Not sure that's the problem as it had been working fine for 2 years until the last DCS update? I'll try and do as you suggested.

Regards.

Now I've noticed the following error message when launching DCS (prior to the original error):

"Failed to get authorization data. Error code is 500: No saved authorization found"

Guess I'll submit a ticket.

Ah, double check your computer time in Windows settings. You might need to press "update" even if it is correct.
As for the Anti-Virus, there have been reported a lot of false positives after updates lately, while mostly for 3rd party modules. You might wanna exclude anyway.
Cheers!

A 500 error suggests it might well be an issue on DCS' validation server rather than an issue on the client machine.

That's true too. Only report I've seen today though. @Mikka are you using or can you test with a VPN if the issue persists?

There's been quite a few posts over the last couple of years regarding this, almost all have come back to the time issue. I checked my time the other day as something I was working on was giving the wrong time stamps compared to my watch, checked and Windows was 3 minutes out of sync with the actual time. So as suggested, I would check that first as it's likely the response you will get from support.

As for the AV problem it's become more apparent over the last three updates, the worst offenders being Malwarebytes and McAfee but Windows Defender has started to quarantine files as well, latest is the AV-8B Harrier I think, it's generally just a single DLL file out the aircraft bin folder. I think it was 2 patches ago that Malwarebyes removed every single Flaming Cliffs aircraft by removing that single DLL file.

Credit where credit due! My mistake! Special thanks to @MAXsenna. Apologies but in my "panic" I missed your point about the time! Never would have thought there was such a simple solution as I thought it would be something much more complex. First thing I'll check with any future problems!

CHEERS to all!

Mark it as solution if possible, so it's easier for others to find it.

Poor @TKhoas. He provided the right answer but @bfr gets the credit. :cry_2:

If you go into the Date and Time Settings through the Control Panel (not Settings) and click on Internet Time then Change Settings you can make sure it's set to synchronise on a regular basis. It's a shame now you only get two time servers to choose from, in the old days there was several.

Saying that though mines set to synchronise on a regular basis and was still wrong

To be fair both BFR and MAXsenna both mentioned it before me, I was just saying about previous posts over the years that 99% of the time it was a 'time' issue. Don't really bother me if I was first to reply and someone else got the credit, long as the issue gets sorted. There are times when I've done very long, detailed replies which has solved a problem and the person can't even be bother to say thanks, does make me wonder why I bother sometimes

Nah, me neither! It's just harmless Saturday banter. More important is that it gets a solution tag as this issue surface from time to time, with a real easy solution!
Enjoy your weekend gents!

emoji1787.png You guys need to learn to read. Look at the fourth post.

Nah, I can read. But sometimes I don't have the discipline to read every single line in thread. :poster_oops:

Don't judge me. :ermm:
