epolta Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 (edited) Unfortunately mission 8 is basically unplayable in VR for me at this time. Similar to other later campaign missions in Cerberus North the number of assets and DCS’ terrible multi threading is causing significant frame time lags for me.. the frame rate and the challenge associated with this mission are making it unplayable and terribly frustrating! Hopefully in the next patch Eagle dynamics can fix their issues with performance! edit: OK white knuckled it through the first phase of the mission and successfully completed all tasks when I head north to meet up with my escort. There is a definitive moment where a bunch of new items load in and my frames go from 60 down to 20 and it becomes literally unplayable. Edited September 29, 2024 by epolta 2
Maverick21989 Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 Not only for VR; it also happens in regular gameplay. For me, the framerate drops drastically later in the mission when they radio me to divert to Incirlik. Hope ED o Ground can do something about it. I also saw that tacview can be the problem, so I disable the module, even tho the framerate was better you can still feel a clear fps drop on the mission P.S. Sorry for my English; I’m not a native speaker 1
Solution ChillNG Posted September 29, 2024 Solution Posted September 29, 2024 Fingers crossed the new patch is hopefully going to help quite a bit.
epolta Posted October 2, 2024 Author Posted October 2, 2024 Flew tonight and maintained a steady 72 FPS throughout the mission much more enjoyable. DCS seems to be working better with the update! 1
Aronis Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 I did not see any frame rate issues with Mission 8, but again, I got shot down LOL. I saw stars. and smoke.... Mike
