Hiob Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 Did anyone else notice problems with ILS lately? Or is it just me? Lately I can't receive any ILS guidance more often than not. Last occurrence in Ramat David. ATC isn't answering either. I had that problem on different aircraft and different maps. There's always the possibility I did something wrong of course, but I doubt that I can't do it in any aircraft anymore. ex81 Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Used ILS yesterday on Caucasus and PG. Worked well (A10c II) What goes up, must come down ! My troubles were in the Phantom and C-101, SA and Syria. Edited September 30, 2024 by Hiob "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"

For communication, always make sure you use the correct radio and the corresponding PTT button. Also, making sure that the ATC belongs to the same coalition as you doesn't hurt. Then, if you can contact ATC, make sure you use the ILS of the RWY that they tell you or if you have the possibility, force a certain runway to be active by adding some wind, preferably something like 5m/s / 10kts as it seems lower speeds may cause issues / irregularities. Also keep in mind that some ILS can be bugged (Al Dhafra is an example I believe) and god knows how the extremely limited ATC of DCS is handling airports with more than 1 seperate runway. 2

Thank you for the tips, I will have an eye on that. Even though I never had those problems in the past. I'm using easy comms. (But I had Jester tune in the ATC frequency) "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"

Some airports are one direction only but ATC will change between the two parallel runways. Nellis is special and you'll always take off 03 and land 21 but the active runway can be either R or L. You can't hear the difference from ATC voice message but someone pointed out that it may be written in the subs when the voice is playing. A general problem is, that turbulances that are barely noticable in the cockpit (the liveliness of the air body in DCS is one of the weakpoints unfortunately), are enough to shut down Airport operations it seems. (Didn't do proper scientific tests on this, but it's currently my only trail) 1 "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"

Let us know the details next time if you can reproduce the issue. I heard there was some MP problem wrt to ATC/AWACS. I'm pretty sure turbulence has nothing to do with ATC comms. Problem is that I was up to make long IMC/Nav flights and the issue always is at the end of an hour long flight - so no useful tracks.
