I have a probem, that with Quadviews, the spotting dots of other aircraft become extremely large when the are in the peripheral (low res area) field of view. So for a short moment when I turn my head I see these massive dots and immediately know where the enemy is. It might be an advantage, but also breaks immersion and seems unfair. Does anybody have the same problem or knows how to fix it? Thanks!

Yes. This is a pain. I think it is because DCS tries to assign dot sizes according to resolution rather than a fixed size. There is a lot of discussion on the bug section.

@BIGNEWY Sorry for the ping but is this issue something that the devs are specifically addressing?

I suppose the immersion could be that it mimics seeing something out of the corner of your eye.

QVFR in DCS does not just affect spot size. The low res area also impacts on shadow quality so there is often annoying flickering when quickly moving your eyes. I think the two are related.

I've just learned to put up with it but am hoping that it will be better with future developments.

This is going to be a very difficult thing to prevent from happening, the spotting dots are based on the full res area and any device with eye tracking / quadviews will see larger dots in the peripheral. Its the nature of the low res area for increased performance.

First we need to get the spotting dots tweaked so different headsets are around the same even if they have different resolutions and we are tweaking that currently.

I guess I have the same issue, but for me it's not the larger dots in the peripheral that are causing problems, but the fact that within the foveated are, I can't see the opponents on mp servers unless they are 2 clicks away. (Pimax Crystal).
Even on the mirrored pc screen I can see opponents better than through the top end VR gear is, frankly, quite annoying.

The spotting is the worse then ever in the latest update. There’s is not a smallest dot outside 2 miles in my quest pro with quad views.
I think this is ridiculous and it’s a shame when the sim is running really smooth right now.

Any air to air combat is impossible in this state.

Yep, absolutely. I constantly have the impression that while I'm lit up like a a flashing candle from the opponent's perspective, I can't see him unless he's guns distance.
This makes foveated rendering currently unplayable on multiplayer.

@BIGNEWY  is there any rough estimate on when some sort of a fix could be realistic?

@BIGNEWY can you please comment on when any resolution / fix could be expected for this problem? Quad views Foveated is plain unusable on MP servers for dogfighting, because you simply can't see bandits within the high res foveated rendering area. I had to revert back to disabling Quad Views Foveated to have the same sized spotting dots as the opponents. But then, the whole point of having an expensive P Crystal is gone. Back to severely downgrading graphics for some extra frames...
