Help with trim

Hi all, just picked up the Kiowa after getting my Virpil CM3 base, VFX grip and collective, using VKB anti-torques. I started out with the OH-6 to basically force myself to learn the hardest helo in the game and decided to buy the Kiowa. Love it but I cant figure out the trim. The OH-6 has a trim left/right so it its pulling right I just trim left to correct it. I fly in VR (Pimax 8kx)

The Kiowa appears to just have a trim button with I set to my hat switch down but how do I use it? If Im pulling to the right in flight, how do I trim it center? I tried hold the button down and moving the stick the left until the Kiowa centers itself but as soon as I let go it goes back to pulling right. 

Sorry for the noob question Im new to DCS and especially helos in general I have about 20 hours in the OH6 and can hover it now and fly it pretty well. The Kiowa is a dream to fly other than my inability to trim it LOL.

KW is not the most difficult helicopter in DCS in terms of flight, here the systems are very supportive so the model is quite easy to fly, which of course does not mean that it is a mistake. I think that KW has one of the better flight models, very close to realism.

About trim - helicopters, with exceptions, do not have a typical trim. Here you only use Force Trim (press T), set the helicopter's position and release it. Then you adjust it until you get the effect. It also has flight stabilization for direction, but currently disabling it doesn't work (Disengage Heading Hold Mode, it will be solved in the incoming patch I hope ). What you are writing about is the SCAS Heading Hold option, something like an auto pilot. I use it during flight but only to lock the direction of flight straight ahead, then the KW is more stable, but it is not a typical autopilot, further shifts are possible. Generally, it is advisable not to use the right or left here.

Thanks YoYo.. I probably didn't state that correctly, I  was implying at least from my VERY humble and uninformed opinion that the OH6 was probably the hardest helo to fly. Everything is manually, no stabilizers whatsoever. The Kiowa is a dream to fly next to that thing. I started with the OH6 because I figured if I could fly that beast I could probably fly anything.

In any case thanks for clearing up the trim for me.

Note that there are special trim options for helicopters - as most people have a stick with springs, which is not realistic for helicopters. Pressing trim will by default set the new cyclic center to the current stick position - but then you have to immediately recenter the stick, or it will apply a double deflection.

if you find your Kiowa trim not working go to special and uncheck FFB . After last patch it comes checked.
