I have been the happy owner of two Reverb G2s for a few years now.  I have absolutely zero complaints with them (and might just keep using them until they both die).

I did setup windows to not do feature updates to get rid of WMR.

After hearing all the praise of the PCL I decided to give it a try.

Still working out many new settings(from youtube videos) but one thing I have noticed is the lack of sharpness at a distance (even inside the cockpit).

In the F/18 for example, the side panels are definately sharper as is the stick.  All the stuff on the front panels and DDis are  fuzzy enough that I am considering returning the headset.  If I really lean forward the image gets sharper.  At 62 years old my eyes arent the best but I get by with basic 1.5 diopter reading glasses.  I also have stigmatism and have prescription glasses for that but rarely need them in the real world or for driving.  I do have excellent far vision.  Trying all my prescription glasses improved the image but not by any significant amount.

My reverb G2s have none of this fuzziness.

Im using OpenXR toolkit with the center FPS indicator (just text) and it is quite sharp.  The mission briefings are also very sharp.

I play around on the aerobatic servers and the carrot indicators of other planes are also 'quite' blurry enough so that it is hard to pick out individual carrot indicators unless I am on top of the planes.

Any ideas on what I can play with to fix this issue.

What are your Pimax play settings and OpenxrTK settings? Is DLSS on? Any upscale, quad views etc? I also use 1.5 cheaters and have an astigmatism for which I use the prescription lens on my PCL, perfectly sharp.

Many similarities to my situation, and I wanted to mention that the F-18 sidepanels allways have been blurry/low-rez looking for me.
That has been through all of my VR sets: Pimax crystal light - HP Reverb g2 and Oculus Quest 2.
That said, I've had the weirdest experience with PCL regarding sharpness. Without 1.5 correction, center is blurry and sides/top/bottom is sharp. Almost as if FFR is reversed/inverted.
I bought the VR-wave prescription lenses, and now it is pretty good. I do have some sharpness issues here and there/now and then.
I have ended up on a few "bankers" settings that I will not change:

Most important for sharpness: NO DLSS, and no AA! (On PCL)

Visibility range on ULTRA in DCS.
-Not using OpenXR toolkit.
-Not using Pimax play ffr. (Mbuccia Quadviews made the biggest improvement for me.) I repeat Pimax play ffr to off.
-Here is my Quadviews setting fwiw:

Thanks for the help guys.

I tried with/without OpenXR Toolkit installed without any changes.  I was only using it for checking FPS

I did have DLSS on in DCS, turning it off as well as AA made a 'slight improvement' but its still an issue.

I think my issue is that the reduced focal length of the PCL (1 meter) vs the G2 (2 meter) is enough to require me to get prescription inserts.

I did put on an old pair of progressive prescription glasses and noticed when I looked thru the lower/reading section it all became crystal(pun intended) clear.

That's been noted elsewhere, guys who thought their eyes were ok discovered they weren't and upon wearing specs the issue cleared up.
