Herasteane Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Hey folks. Another thread. I've seen in a video that a guy fired a HOT at a target, slew his vivianne to the secondary target, shot again, and both missiles hit... I thought those were wire-guided... Does that mean that if I know that my target is stationnary, I can fire a second missile, which cut the first wire, and then focus on the new missile?

Was the target stationary? As you write, the cables are cut when selecting another missile. In theory though, I can see it work as the missile doesn't die when the cables are cut. Might be a neat trick. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
Herasteane Posted February 12 Author Posted February 12 There you go! So yeah it makes sense. He fires to cut the wire as soon as he knows its properly guided and wins a few seconds on the next shot. It is a cool trick, gonna try that out! 2

Tonker Posted February 13 Posted February 13 @Herasteane thanks for sharing, had literally never occured to me to ripple on the run* like that! *Ripple on the Run? Now there was a band etc etc etc 1 Nah, I've only just met 'er...:pilotfly:
Dragon1-1 Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I'm not sure this is correct behavior. Does HOT have an internal autopilot that would allow it to fly straight after the wire is cut? I'd expect that with the wire cut, the control surfaces would stop moving, usually meaning the missile would miss. 2

Herasteane Posted March 10 Author Posted March 10 Probably an issue that the devs never thought someone may exploit then, because it does work here. Sorry for the extra work Polychop 1
