Need help with missione ditor

Recommended Posts

I want to create a mission where I escort a couple of Hinds behind the enemy lines. I want them to land or at least fly very low and slow and deploy 4 or 5 guys each chopper, then the Hinds will take off again and return to base. Want to make a Spec Ops insertion missions

How I can make the Hinds land and some guys appear?

Also, is possible to set a "light" in mission editor? I want to mark a free fire are on a firing range and some lights on the ground will be just great

1. You can only make AI helicopters land at FARPs or Airbases

2. You can't use lights (other than candle flares at night) but you can use red/orange coloured smoke which can be fired from a Su-25 to designate a target area. (make sure he is set to AFAC role and armed with B-8M1 -20 S8 TsM rocket pods, also I set two targeting points set close together and set to POINT).

The closest you can get to a heli dropping troops off is to slow and descend a heli to 1km/hr over about 3 or 4 waypoints with the 1km/hr waypoint altitude set at the minimum it will let you set (set zero and click on something else, it will default to absolute minimum). Put a v small trigger zone just before 1km WP and use that trigger to spawn some troops under where the heli is at the edge of that trigger. With some nice rotor wash it will seem as if heli came to a hover & Spec Ops guys absailed down into position. 1 other thing, dont have 5 troops spawning and then moving as you will lose realism as they will be spread out by default.

If you do intend them to move then you will have to spawn 5 individual units and program the WPs for each unit.

Sorry for long explanation. Did this myself as an airfield assault by enemy spec ops (took b****y ages!!).

Nope, correct. Put your su25 in there with the coloured smoke rockets, thats about it. That I know about anyway.

Personally, like most of the other Mission Builders, I've stopped building until the patch comes out. I believe you will be able to mark easier with the new patch and Mission Editor.

nun that I know of. That is one of the things I would like to have. Like the arma ME you can creat a zone and the SAM will pop up in the zone in randum locations.

The best you can do to add a Random element to your SAM location is to do the following:-

1.Set say 6 (or more if you wish) SAMs in an area that you think is realistic.

2.Set each SAMs time delay to 23:00:00

3.In Mission Editor use following code

MISSION START (random SAM 1) ; rules: RANDOM(30), FLAG IS FALSE(1); Actions: ACTIVATE (name of SAM 1); SET FLAG (1)

MISSION START (random SAM 2) ; rules: RANDOM(30), FLAG IS FALSE(1); Actions: ACTIVATE (name of SAM 2); SET FLAG (1)

and so on for the other 4.

You might have to play around with the RANDOM(x) figure a bit (the more SAMs you have the lower you can set this figure), but with the flags only one of your Six SAMs will spawn.
