II.JG1_Vonrd Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Since last update. Both Eagle Dynamics and Saved Games complete folders excluded in windows 11 Microsoft Defender Antivirus. Everything DCS is checkboxed to allow through firewall. All Mods disabled. Ran complete repair twice and re-booted after each repair. Internet is good and I'm able to connect to both the DCS Forum (obviously) and the DCS website. I don't know what else to do.

Solution II.JG1_Vonrd Posted February 21 Author Solution Posted February 21 (edited) Luckily, I had a Windows System Restore point dated one day before the DCS update. I did a restore then updated and repaired DCS. It's working now. EDIT: Did not continue to work Edited February 22 by II.JG1_Vonrd 2
II.JG1_Vonrd Posted February 22 Author Posted February 22 Nope, the issue came back. Doing as noted in the other thread did work: Go to Windows "Network And Sharing Centre" Ethernet Status -> Properties Select IP protocol version 4 (or TCP/IPv4) Under "General", select "Use the following DNS server addresses:" Write: Preferred DNS Server: 8.8.8.8 Alternate DNS Server: 8.8.4.4
ASpiderfromMars Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I have the same problem. With the F 14. I own a lot of modules and maps and DLC. But today i get the message that i do not own the F 14 module wich I paid money for. I will be removed. I might be old and old fashion. But I do not like that way behaving from a company. Not a all. I bought that module years ago. To have a company show up suddenly and Threaten to away what you bought . Its mind bogling to me that anbody would conduct buisnes that way. To have to spend time on dealing with this nonsens its not ok I my opinion.

It is nothing to do with us as a company, your antivirus is being over protective. You can exclude DCS from its scans, and run a repair of DCS and it should help. If you have problems and need help please contact our support team on our website they will be happy to assist you thank you Forum rules - DCS Crashing? mongol-29 Posted March 13 Posted March 13 (edited) A similar problem with the F-14 (only). It arose only today, yesterday it was not. I do not use third-party antiviruses, on this machine only DCS and built-in Windows defender Edited March 13 by mongol-29 Mongol-29 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Hiob Posted March 13 Posted March 13 (edited) Just an anecdote. Due to the Defender update, my machine gave me a small heart attack the day before yesterday by suddenly flagging and blocking a severe "threat". Turns out the file it flagged was part of a Fan-utility that I installed and used ages ago and never caused any issues (still doesn't). Just another case of a frickin' false positive. The ONLY kind of "finds" Defender EVER produced for me. AVs really are a case of the "solution" being much worse than the "problem"....... durandil Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Same problem here. I had the \steamapps\common\DCSWorld as an exclusion and it didn't work. I even try deactivate Microsoft Defender. 3 hours ago, Rudel_chw said: Windows updated its MS defender during the night. The AV removed the files from the DCS folder so it needs to be restored, Edited March 13 by AdrianL 2
MAXsenna Posted March 13 Posted March 13 wonder why users alway blame DCS and never blame their crappy Antivirus which deleted part of the F-14 I'm more intrigued by users' unwillingness to search the forum or Googleing to have their issues solved in a matter of minutes. Instead of posting here and waiting for a solution. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 3

Hiob Posted March 13 Posted March 13 1 hour ago, durandil said: So don't blame the users Usually they are at fault though. Just empirical experience. Especially if they happen to use AVs and happen to not question them enough. Just scan the forum, as far as I'm aware, every incident so far eventually turned out to be a false positive (or maybe some inofficial third party mod). 2 "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"
ASpiderfromMars Posted Thursday at 04:53 PM Posted Thursday at 04:53 PM Tried those steps . I dont have any third part AV either. But the Module is still gone from my Steam Library. I will have to contact customer support . I am not super smart with stuff like this. So its just a bit frustrating for an old slowited guy like me. When I was young , once you bought something , got it home . It stayed there.

The module gone from the Steam Library indicates something completely different though, so it might not be due to false positive virus warnings. If it's gone from the library, it will be disabled in DCS and you will get the same disabled warning as the license has been revoked. You need to contact Steam support is my guess. ASpiderfromMars Posted Friday at 07:30 AM Posted Friday at 07:30 AM I contacted ED IT support. They where very helpful. And it was Windows Defender exclusion of all DCS files . And then followed by going in to Steam library DCS and verify File integrity. It was the last bit I was missing. I am kind of hopeless with stuff like this so I am grateful for the help from the support team. Problem solved 1
