opening the mission editor with missing mods - how? SOLVED

I once started a mission, with some mods done about 2 years ago.

I reinstalled the mods seemingly OK, but maybe at the wrong place now with OvGME in saved games instead of the DCSopenbeta game folder..

Opening that mission is not possible it seems, for correcting matters ... is there a trick for opening the mission in the DCS editor without the missing mods?

Either download the mods (easiest and quickesr method) or open the .miz file with winrar or similar and open the mission.lua. In there you should have a line somewhere saying something like "required modules" and delete the mods out of that line.

Thanks, already tried .. // before the line about the mod addressed, but re-zipping the file with 7zip crashed DCS on loading .......  but i'll try again with winrar.

You don't have to unzip or rezip it, you should be able to open the .miz file directly with it.

to get to the mission file you'll need a zip tool? its inside a folder with the same name as the miz file. so it needs some rezipping ??

No zipping needed. You can "open with" the miz file with winrar (not sure but should probably work with 7zip too). Then you can access the lua file directly and save it that way.

That worked when dragging the corrected and externally saved mission file back in to the zip folder ... pfff, thanks all
