I just had this same issue. My landing was up. Although I have found that I have to press 'G' multiple times. Last flight out wheels were down until I hit FL180 (Yes I pressed 'G' immediatley after the CAT shot). None the less they were up after I saw it. I flew for a while and saw a MiG-23MLD or 29. Anyway I locked the bird up with an AARAM at about 45nm. I got all the way within 18nm frantically holding the weapon release button over and over. This was on the 107th SOCAL server. I don't know if it was lag or what however three sorties in a row seems legit 🙄. I never had this problem until now.

This is my normal SEAD with harm steps.

  1. MASTER ARM ON
  2. A/G
  3. STORES
  4. HARM
  5. SCAN: HOS
  6. LEFT DDI (HARM DISPLAY)= SOI
  7. RIGHT DDI = EW
  8. HARM HAND OFF ('C')
  9. HOLD WEAPONS RELEASE - "You get nothing!, nada!, zip!, you lose!, good day Sir!

Hi

we will check your track, although I have not had any issues personally in my sessions.

I have moved your post to its own thread, bumping a 4 year old thread wont be useful.

Sadly the 63mb track replay is corrupted which can happen on servers running scripts or external databases.

Can I suggest you try a single player short session just to confirm your procedure is correct. If you still have issues please attach that track.

thank you

I knew something was up. Yeah they have a lot cool custom dynamics stuff going on. Heck even the Auto-Pilot was spotty. One second I'd get an MC and then out of no where, it just kicks on. I shut it down a couple of hours ago and put all my stuff away. I will however do one this evening and tag you. I'll make I am within range of a SAM and a MiG. This way you only have to watch the actual attempts to shoot. My guess is it will wirk fine in SP.

no worries, but worth testing in single player just to ensure your not missing something. As mentioned it seems fine in my sessions, and not had any other reports about weapons not firing for a long time.

If you made it up to FL18 with gear still down you likely went fast enough to rip the gear doors off, so even though you could technically retract the gear, the F-18 systems would have considered that serious damage that would prevent weapon employment.

HOLD WEAPONS RELEASE

Since you called it „weapons release“ twice in your post, I have to ask this:

You are aware, that air-to-air weapons in the Hornet are launched with the trigger and not the „weapons release“ (aka pickle button), right?

Nah about 300ish at 5 degrees.

In the panic yes, I held down both, one after the other just to test. I even held the spacebar down too.

In SP everything seems to be fine. AIM-120C seemed to have lost it's lock but I did fire it at 27nm I beleive. Maybe 15-18nm is better? Yes I got killed by a gaggle of Hinds =o). I'll chalk it up to what Big Newy said.

At 300 kts you very probably broke the gear doors (250 kts is max deployment speed) which will inhibit weapon release.  As I said before, maybe not enough to damage the gear itself, but if you damage the doors you can't fire weapons.  This used to be a common issue when people weren't retracting gear fast enough coming off the boat.

The gear came up fine. But yeah, maybe you're right. I caused enough damage and that is why. I was gonna say, never had this happen (that's what she said).
