Flyby
It's my rather primitive understanding that the wings must fit into the supersonic shock cone of the aircraft - but I may have that wrong. If that is the case, then the length of the wing is limited by the cone, otherwise you create extra drag. I think. However! There's a more reliable list of advantages and disadvantages: http://www.desktopaero.com/appliedaero/potential3d/fsw.html here's another article (sort of interesting): http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/su-47.htm over The U.S. Congress is the best governing body that BIG money can buy.
Flyby
oh, btw here's a page combat simmers may find useful for (maybe) mission building; stuff right out of today's headlines. hope someone finds it helpful. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/index.html Flyby out The U.S. Congress is the best governing body that BIG money can buy.

Pilotasso
Yes, forward swept wings have their own problems. They have to be reinforced to stay in place or else the weight and aerodynamic forces might result in wing flex up and backwards and get ripped off from the fusealge in an instant. Weapons carieage in those wings also poses a problem. Flyby
yeah, but what about...? hmmm... nice discussion here of forward-swept wings, but is there anymore info on Russian stealth planes? such as: http://www.defenceaviation.com/2008/01/su-pakfa-a-russian-stealth-fighter.html and this: http://righttruth.typepad.com/right_truth/2006/05/the_new_russian.html and here's a site I've never seen before: http://www.aviapedia.com/forum/#232 Flyby out The U.S. Congress is the best governing body that BIG money can buy.
gigz-on
Info about the radar is wrong! It will be better than this one! Maybe, active ( AFAR/AESA ) like Zhuk AE. http://www.deagel.com/Aircraft-Warners-and-Sensors/Irbis_a001800001.aspx My YouTube Channel:
Flyby
interesting read. nice claims too, but it would be nice if that system could be tested, and the claims borne out. But then again, I always suspect any claims I read about unproven military capability, no matter where the claims come from. For that matter, I never blindly believe anyone's media either!;) always question.
