brettt777 Posted Tuesday at 02:07 AM Posted Tuesday at 02:07 AM (edited) I have a three display Winwing MFD setup with a UFC and an ICP. About a dozen of the modules I own can be put on one, two or three of these displays with the SimAppPro app. I discovered a while back that the radar for the F-1 Mirage will also appear on one of the Winwing MFD's and it is fully functional. And... it has nothing to do with SimAppPro or Winwing. Does anyone have any idea how this happens or what .lua file might make this happen? The reason I ask is that there are a couple more planes that have radar's, etc. that I would love to display on an MFD. I saw one init.lua file for the F-1 that seemed like it might be part of the reason it works. I actually took part of that .lua file and put it in a similar file for the F-4E Phantom radar. It worked... kind of. What I got was an overlay of the radar display on the main game display. It was fully functional except it had no returns showing on it when it should have. Anyway, anyone got any ideas? I would love to have the radar and HSI of the Phantom on MFD's so I am not having to constantly slew down to see them. I have a three monitor setup now and I don't use the TrackIR 5 that much anymore. Does anyone have any idea how this happens or what .lua file might make this happen? TL;DR: • SimAppPro creates a custom Viewport file "DCS World\Config\MonitorSetup\wwtMonitor.lua" • Many modules use the same default Viewport naming scheme (i.e. "LEFT_MFCD", "RIGHT_MFDC" and "CENTER_MFDC"). • The Mirage F1 uses "LEFT_MFCD" and "RIGHT_MFDC", so once you have setup SimAppPro for another aircraft that uses the same MFD viewport names i.e. A-10C, F-16C, FA-18C, etc. - the Mirage F1 radar screen will be exported. Detail When setting up your MFDs using SimAppPro it creates a customised Viewport file "DCS World\Config\MonitorSetup\wwtMonitor.lua" You can then copy it to "Saved Games\DCS\Config\MonitorSetup" and customise SimAppPro's default settings (in your saved copy) to your own preferences i.e. I set the Kiowa's exported MFD's to a 4:3 aspect, etc. There are lots of videos and posts explaining how to Export DCS Viewports - this one gives a list of modules and the viewport names they use (but I'm sure there are many others). 15 hours ago, brettt777 said: I would love to have the radar and HSI of the Phantom on MFD's AFAIK it's not easy to export the F-4 Phantom Radar to an external Viewport/MFD ATM however Heatblur do plan to add viewport support later. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/349414-export-to-second-monitor/#findComment-5569012 Edited Tuesday at 05:19 PM by Ramsay Add link to post re: Phantom radar viewport export 1 1 i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
