Long boot times is often related to your Anti-virus scanning stuff as it's loading in.

Long boot times is only the start of this mess. And yeah, that could also be related to a anti-virus program but let's not kid ourselves, it's the usual excuse nowadays. And in most cases, it turns out the anti-virus got nothing to do with it. Just spent half an hour to update all my drivers, clean up my "Saved Games" folder, i.e. deleting all mods, still the same problem persists that just began occuring literally over night. <profanity> this. I've got little very free time currently and bugfixing a problem that most likely isn't even on my end to begin with (source: see all the other people reporting the same problem with very different systems) just feels like a dumb decision right now. So why are you automatically assuming it's ED's fault that it's now taking so long to load in?

YoYo Posted May 25 Posted May 25 This topic is discussed in many threads, but it's hard to say whether it has been noticed properly. Currently, from 2-3 patches, the situation related to closing DCS does not look too good. After clicking "Quit to desktop", it takes quite a long time, sometimes even over a minute or more. It has never been like this, and the exit was immediate. Interestingly, my friend has the same problem. Sometimes I just force minimize DCS and start doing other things, and DCS is still grinding away in the background. 3 Webmaster of http://www.yoyosims.pl Win 10 64, i9-13900 KF, RTX 5090 32Gb OC, RAM 64Gb Corsair Vengeance LED OC@3600MHz,, 3xSSD+3xSSD M.2 NVMe, Predator XB271HU res.2560x1440 27'' G-sync, Sound Blaster Z + 5.1, TiR5, [MSFS, P3Dv5, DCS, RoF, Condor2, IL-2 CoD/BoX] VR fly only: Meta Quest Pro

I fly in VR and I don't really want to turn off the headset when DCS is still on the screen. I can live with it as well, but I think it's worth solving it along with the problem with loading missions. MickyG Posted May 27 Posted May 27 I solved this issue on my side. problem started after flashing my motherboard bios to the latest version. (I remembered everything worked fine the day before) after flashing it back to the previous version everything went back to normal. no more long closing times for DCS and microstutter disappeared. Gryzor Posted May 30 Author Posted May 30 It seems that ""bkg_load_all_plugins = false" doesn't work with latest update.
SmirkingGerbil Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Just updated to latest bug fix. For both my client, and my dedicated server. All good, almost all stutter gone (just a bit on first taxi for a few dozen feet)! Running normal frames now, capped at 90 FPS below Monitor refresh of 165. My dedicated server is running MIST, and various code options for polygonal spawn areas, and AI units. Was a stuttery mess last two patches. Now the server is smooth, and my client is smooth. This is the first thing worth checking instead of drivers, memory, mods and God knows what else ;). However now it is: bkg_load_signed_plugins = true, we havent here "all". ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since I don't want to interfere with the original files, I personally recommend adding this entry to: C:\Users\xvy\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config go to autoexec.cfg (or create it), add this new line: bkg_load_signed_plugins = false DCS is back to normal (no stutters at the beginning, fast saving, even the exit is immediate ect). Btw. scommander2 Posted June 8 Posted June 8 Hi @YoYo, thanks. A quick question the following options: bkg_load_all_plugins = false with: bkg_load_signed_plugins = false What are differences? Thanks. I suspect that "all" applies to all modules, while "signed" applies to separate paid ones. I use "signed" and it works without any problems. All problems are gone and I don't see any side effects.
