IMHO - I generally like Logitech products, I own several.

But the whole system looks "plastic" ... cheap.

New generation? For logitech maybe I guess :) But for the market - which new generation or what is it supposed to improve?

I assume it's supposed to compete with this?

Well, maybe if I were a first time buyer I would consider logitech - but now since I already have a x52 set I'd rather stick with that.

Logitech do have two throttles - Saitek only one. I'd want two for greater flexibility.

Still, if I were to consider buying a replacement set I would still buy a full x52 set.

... my two cents ...

Well, it is a FFB joystick, so I would say it isn't aimed at Saitek's X-52, but rather at what Saitek supposedly has coming next...

(or perhaps more accurately, to fill a niche that hasn't been filled yet... an FFB HOTAS, which also happens to have a split throttle and includes rudders).

It would be nice if someone came out with well made FFB rudder pedals. I suppose the manufacturers don't see enough of a market for that, though.

There's no place like 127.0.0.1

Cyb, you're right - I didnt notice the FFB feature. And I didnt notice that I dont have it on the x52 either - but then again I've not looked for FFB since Falcon 4.

I think split throttles will become more of a necessity as the fidelity of simulators increases. Certainly if we can expect engine wear to be a factor with DCS:Hog. You're not always going to want to run both engines at the same thrust levels if one is playing up after taking a few shards of Shilka love.

And also dead handy for taxy manouevuring on the ground. Nothing like a bit of differential power to make life easier...

But gotta say the $300 price tag is a bit steep for something that looks so cheaply made... Still that's purely speculation.

Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

I honestly think the 300 buck price tag is nothing! You get a very convincing looking (to me anyway, with my modest demands) piece of equipment with force feedback, and the price includes all three parts! (stick, throttle unit and pedals).

A Saitek X52 Pro goes for ~$230 american and for only 70 bucks more you get a lot more than if you'd buy a X52 Pro and the Saitek pedals (which would cost you ~$365 USD here in sweden). And that's without force feedback mind you.

The omniloved CH suite will run you at least $540 in Sweden, which of course does not have force feedback, but is made of metal...

I really like what the Logitech unit is trying to sell, too bad I just got my X52 Pro... =D

But I honestly think that the Saitek X65F will be my choice:
