NOW 29!!!! PLEASEE PLEASSSSE COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi All

Thought I'd share this mission with you. I was making my campaign, and I made this mission that I quite enjoyed. It's short and simple, and uses mainly the Ed Macys Apache style scenarios. It doesn't have a proper standalone briefing, because as I said, it's part of a campaign, but i'll give you a brief overview. Western Georgia has been overrun with terrorist insurgents, and it has called on NATO and Russian Help. Both sides agree, and therefore, soon cooperative ( NATO/Russia) missions start. This is a cooperative mission to clear out a town of insurgents to use the airbase.

It's not very polished, and is really easy, but it's a bit of fun.

PS. I doubt it'll happen here, you all seem like very nice people:D, but sometimes posting missions for other games, people start hurling abuse if they don't like it. So please don't.:D:D:D

Please rate the mission by the way

I don't tested your mission but I can say that no one will really give you a feedback.

I released 9 missions in every of the (meanwhile) 3 versions of my Missionpack.

Every version was downloaded ca. 30 times.... and only 2-3 guys have given a small feedback.

No one will really thank you for your hard work. The only consolution you will have is that your missions will be played at the dedicated servers around the world. ;)

I haven't downloaded the mission, but I can give you a comment.

Repeated pleas/demands for help in bright red capitalized text accompanied by excessive punctuation comes off as petulant and annoying.

I assumed that joining this community would mean an end to sarcastic and unhelpful comments such as the one you have just made. I see this is not the case. As is so sadly often the case, there is always one who seems to lack even a shred of respect for his or her fellow gamers, and spends their time leaving brief and harsh messages, of which the sole purpose is a lethargic attempt to show of their intellectual superiority. I am not going to get involved in a battle of words with you Einstein, because I am not naiive enough to think that I could win, but I leave you with this ; I left my mission up as a way of giving back something to my fellow members who have helped my so much in my 'beginner' stage of Black Shark. All I asked for in return was a comment on the mission, which is not an unreasonable demand. As I'm sure anyone can appreciate, when one has what now approaches forty downloads of one's mission, it can get slightly frustrating. I did not expect a snide and offensive reply to my further requests for a comment, and I think that you do a lot to degrade the DCS community as a whole. You are an injustice to this forum, and I hope you see the fault in your ways.

Unbiased point-blank no-holds-barred: This mission needs a lot of work.

1: The briefing needs to be expanded to include the current situation so that the pilot knows what's going on. Add pictures to the briefing as well so that the pilot knows the area he'll be flying in.

2: While the idea behind the mission is great and I love the use of a forward observer walking me onto the target, this mission posed no challenge whatsoever. Make the threat move towards its objective and have the enemy actively engaging the friendlies I'm trying to protect: Give me some motivation by making the threat to the friendlies real - If I don't perform, then they die...I would also beef up the hostiles with a few manpads. As it was there were no AA threats at all in the mission. They are also too close to the airfield to be in any real danger. IRL a quick reaction force would have left from the base to engage the hostiles attacking their friends...Put them out in the city on a mission where they were trying to get back to base when they were ambushed. Put attackers on both sides of their route so that I have to worry about deflection shots to avoid stray bullets hitting friendlies. Above all, try to create the appearance of an active battlefield....And let me take off from the runway instead of flying from a farp 12km away...If I'm attached to american forces then I should be able to take off from their base....

Thanks Rhino for you reply - it is much appreciated! The Briefing was less detailed, beacuse, as I said in my first post, it is not a standalone mission and part of a campaign, so when playing it as part of the campaign, you would know the situation already.

In answer to your second point, when I have played it, the hummers do eventually explode, and the troops die, but you are right in that I should have enemy moving in etc. I intended when I started making the mission to have it playable at all levels, and I sometimes find time constraints a bit intense :D, but I have taken that point on board and will edit the misison accordingly. AA threats ; I was planning to put some random triggers for SAM threats later on, but I was focusing on realism here, and Taliban style insurgents have very few Manpad devices and are very reluctant to use them, and I have put plently of AA threats in further missions. You are right about the distance to the base being easily close enough for an IRT response, and that is simply down to me completely overestimating the distance from base, and again, I will edit accordingly. The home run type mission is a good idea, but I want to stick with the same format I have here - friendlys pinned down etc, but I can understand how you feel about that.

Finally, I thought I put it in the brief, but anyway, the mission was in support of a clearance mission intended to significantly reduce or completely remove the AA threats to incoming aircraft. Imagine a Hercules low on approach, and some guy on a rooftop with a stinger. This combined with little equipment fit to maintain several helicopters ( newly captured) means that I was waiting at least two missions before the airbase is suitable for use.

Again, thanks for the reply.

ok I'll chime in.

It's a great start for a good campain scenerio. I did download it and did fly it. and even though it might need work I am no expert on that for sure.

(I think I got like 8 logged hours flight time in this sim)

I thought it was a good way to stretch my skills. I think we need more whole Campains like this. uncertain scenerios and missions.

I for one don't always believe that in combat we always know exactly whats going on and know that War is always a surprise. you never now what your enemy will do!

Secondly, I like that fact that you have to retask as it where. you have to stop and setup a new point in the abris and such to now where your going and that stretches your skills on the ability to know other factors about the aircraft not just flying and blowing things up.

Great start & great job Warbird! Sorry I did not comment sooner!

Thankyou very much for your kind comments Oldflyer! I am glad you mentioned the uncertain combat/retasking side of this mission - that is exactly how I intended it to come across, or you could say I wanted to avoid the 'two tanks will be here at this time and they wil have escort of etc etc' type scenarios.

Once again, thanks for the comment, and don't worry about not commenting sooner :)
