Tulkas
This is the events secuence: -Before holidays (May-June) bought Black Shark in Norway, English version. Installed and working perfect, lot of fun. -After holidays came with a new hard drive with the idea of leaving the old one just as it is, as backup. Install windows and all my simulators in the new one, install Black Shark, install patch 1.0.1 but now: If I launch the game off-line (orange icon) I make it to the menu, but when i try to load a mission (training or normal) it looks it loads but in the end sends me back to the menu screen. If I try to go to "options" I get a messege error (screenshot tonight). If I try Multiplayer (blue icon) I get nothing, nothing opens, no error appears. Spec: Windows XP ASUS P5Q ASUS ATI 4850 Core Duo 8600 Thanks Tulkas
Panzertard
First thing to check, disable ATI Catalyst AI. :) The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
Tulkas
First thing to check, disable ATI Catalyst AI. :) What do you mean? It worked pretty well before with my ATI but if you know a way of getting even a better perfomance -when I get it to work again- hey, I am all ears :) Cheers Tulkas
Panzertard
it's a well known "issue" or workaround - people are stugling to use the Catalyst AI. Just try to disable it - and see if that solves the problem :) If you search the forum for Catalyst AI you'll see what I mean. ;) The mind is like a parachute. I will try a reinstall, hate that
EtherealN
There is a temp folder within your blackshark installation, please check if you have any error.log and/or errors.log files in there, and post the contents if the timestamp at the start of error.log agrees with when you ran the application. It appears like something gets broken when loading DCS.exe and the error.log file might be able to indicate what it is. If you do reinstall, please check if everything works correctly in the pure 1.0.0 first, then patch and see if it changes. This might help analyze the issue to establish that it really is something with the patch that is causing this. Further information on driver and DirectX version would also be interesting in that case. Or do you mean reinstalling the sim is easier than turning off a checkbox in the ATI panel (10 seconds)? - But as Ethereal also mentioned, check \temp for .CRASH files or the Error logs. - Dxdiag report please, let's see you full system specs. ;) The mind is like a parachute.
