Video:
What a horrible shot solution was that, brother? The bandit is also notching pretty hard.
Lots of data missing.
This is far from 'unexplainably'.

Tacview Track 2nd fight:

Bad solutions and the two first shots gave the missile no chance making it bleed a lot of energy + there were a lot of notching from the Viper.
The third one hit because it was close enough.

Gotta work on those shot solutions. See on the first fight how worse the Viper defended and you got it with 1 shot.

Also, keep in mind, missiles sometimes keep turning if they lost track when they are turning as on that video you posted. I've seen it 100s of times.

Missile turning =\= Missile has track. Probably it lost tracking way earlier, regained, lost again, etc.

These are anything but "inexplicable". Every single track the target is notching into clutter background. The third case it hit as said above because the target got into the notch too late, and he didn't sufficiently change course post notch. Track extrapolation allowed it to still make the intercept.

I'm not sure if the battery life of AIM120 will be affected by missile unlocking, which may cause it to run out of battery. Is that normal

Battery life is 100 seconds for the 120C, it's not a factor in these tracks.

We don't know the reason, we just feel that the situation of 120 not tracking is abnormal

It is not. Work on getting better shots.

You feel...! Hear that guys? He "FEELS"! We judge physics by "feel"..., interesting!

Actually, a better start for him and for everyone else in his situation is to try to learn some more about a thing before confidently stating something!

When you can't prove something with words, let the math do the talking.

I have an insatiable passion for helping simulated aircraft fly realistically. Don't underestimate my knowledge before understanding what I talk about!
