Update notices

Hi, would it be too much to ask if you could announce the game update patch release at least a day or two in advance? I'd like to be able to disable all the game modes we have applied and perform a clean update. Thanks to ED.

Hi, I try to let you all know as much in advanced as I can, but it is not always possible to give advance warning, we have to be pretty flexible in some cases.

As soon as I can let you know about a patch I always update the patch status forum post.

Hi, I'm already following it, the problem is that it usually announces updates on the same day as the update and you have to be quick.

At least for standalone version updates are optional so you do it when it fits you.

I would advice against it.

Problem is that people would whine if an update notice is posted some days before, but the the update will be postponed the day it should release.

I find current update notice works fine.

correct, we find only posting when we are sure of a date is best, of course this means it can be short notice depending on test results and QA approval. 
Even then everything is subject to change, as mentioned before we have to be flexible with so many moving parts to a patch cycle.

Fwiw, I been with this since the lock on days and imo y'all been rocking it hard the last year or so.

99% of the time, it's the same day, when we get the information plus the changelog. Recently, however, there have been a few occasions where the information was a day earlier. Take the November patch, for example. It hasn't been released yet, and if it's not Wednesday (today), it will be tomorrow, but there's no official information yet. We'll find out tomorrow. For some, it's Thanksgiving, meaning they have a day off, so this might be a good opportunity :).
