paulw10 Posted Tuesday at 08:09 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:09 PM (edited) For anyone who is interested ... Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS Throttle axis tuning to act as a helo collective (i.e. reversed, pull-back to increase) | UH-1 | AH-64 | OH-58 | CH-47 | SA342 | UH-60L| ------------------------------------------------ Deadzone | 30 | 30 | 30 | 30 | 30 | 30 | Saturation X | 100 | 100 | 100 | 100 | 100 | 100 | Saturation Y | 75 | 70 | 100 | 90 | 87 | 80 | Curve | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | Slider | x | x | x | x | x | x | Invert | x | x | x | x | x | x | User curve | | | | | | | ------------------------------------------------ Deadzone - used to remove the AB detent region from the throttle range. Saturation Y - the useful collective maximum demand. The thing that varies between helo's. Curve - linear. Anything else is not useful since collective demand is proportional to load/weight. Slider/invert - set both to enable the tuning method. nullThe attached screenshot shows the result (UH-1). The minimum collective demand is at the AB detent position (fully forward) and the maximum collective demand is at the idle position (fully to the rear). Hope this is helpful Edited yesterday at 04:52 PM by paulw10 slight tweak for UH-1 to cover armed troup carrying
MAXsenna Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago @paulw10 One minor comment. Remove the bracket and remove the AB detent, or just turn it around. Having a 30% decrease of the collective range with a deadzone is not a good option for a helicopter. Cheers!

Apologies I should noted this above. This is a fairly common mod with these and great for fixed wing ops. The push-through region is not good for a helo collective as it gives very restricted movement in a sensitive region. Rather than de-mod the throttle this excludes the AB region to give a smooth throttle operation. Hope this is helpful. Thanks.

I use a modified, push-through detent as well, but still use the full range of the throttle as a helicopter collective without issue. I guess the difference between my experience and yours is that my detent is filed down so much that it only provides enough of a speedbump to give me a tactile cue, but doesn't impede the smooth movement in any meaningful way.
