Can't get the cold dark startup training miz to advance beyond...

Have you moved your throttles back to ground idle?

Yeah, I move it back using my HOTAS and I've moved it back using the keybinds just in case it was some kind of calibration issue with my HOTAS. But I can't get it to move past that point of the tutorial. I moved on to the others and they've covered more than enough from the point on.

The cold and dark needs to be able 30 mins shorter...Holy cow....

I'll DM Lockheed.

IRL, usually the crew chief will get the jet powered up, nav aligned, apu on, etc.  But for cold and dark to engines on it takes a while.   Once you get the hang of it, it can go a lot quicker.

I just re-flew the tutorial with the release build (making a video) and it seemed to work for me ok.  Just to confirm you advanced them up over the flight idle and back down?

I will have a closer look to see if I can widen the tolerances a bit.

Tell Lockheed I said hi and that Sikorsky rules!

I'm sure it will but that tutorial was kinda brutal. Literally watched the sun go down during it Lol

I understand! 😉

Yeah, it's pretty loaded.  But.. with the expansive list of failures that might/may occur, plus mission makers (like me) who might throw a failure or two the players way... Ya never know.

The cool thing about the Hercules we have is that if you want to just get it into the air and fly around it's a dream to fly by hand.  Just have the nav system aligned, get the engines on and you can go out and do it, even combat ops.  It's all the fancy avionics that takes the lions share of the cold start, and we only really need basic stuff.

But if you want to do it by the book, you are able to do it, too.

The bird is really in depth, I didn't think it would have so many of the systems and the detailed workflow modeled, especially at EA, the more the merrier. I lucked out on it also, I just did the pre-purchase last night after being nudged in the Discord a little. After seeing the "Charlie West" livery in ME and on the cover of the manual. I'm super biased toward it now since my state is prominently repd, that's rare 😆

I'm still working my way through BD's training campaign, and yes it felt like a lot of the time was entering data. Interesting to hear a lot of it is optional. I'm guessing some shortened tutorials will come out later
