Everything you see in F2 view are actually external textures and models. It is different and much less detailed then cockpit view. I am not sure it's a bug, but rather if developers have time or will to better detail it.

Before yesterday patch dimmer stayed down, at least when it's down in cockpit, with dimmer always up, You cannot get epic screenshots anymore because You cannot see a face of the pilot.

If it was working dynamically as intended before, it is indeed a bug.
