Not a bug. Request more procedures in Manual.

Hey!
This is one of the better releases I've seen in DCS so congrats. Given the complicated nature of the airplane and it's systems, it would be really useful to include the procedures in the manual. For example I'm getting hit or miss CARP auto releases and I'm sure it's something I've missed in the setup or the run it. The checklist is good, but an expanded procedure is what would solve the issue (hotlinks for the checklist to the manual for bonus points). The included missions were good for getting going but they don't fully cover the procedure in a way that I'm able to duplicate it from a cold start in a dynamic. Same with the CMDS; I'm getting a CMDS Fail warn when it's turned on any mode and the Master is on. I couldn't find anything in the manual as to why this might be.

I'm having the same issue...I can't finish the CARP training cause it crashes every time so it'd be nice to have it in writing to know what to do, or just how to drop cargo regardless. Right now I'm just unlocking the cargo and pulling up. Doesn't quite work Lol I also have the CMDS issue. I kinda thought it was because I put in all flares for one heck of an angel Lol The manual needs more in it or a Chucks Guide but I see that taking awhile.

You get the CMDS fail acaws when there is a mismatch between the hard panel state, and the soft panel (CNI) state of the CDMS system. You need to turn both to on.

To turn the CNI component on, go to MC INDEX -> DEFENSIVE SYSTEMS (top right selkey), then press MASTER PWR

I can try tomorrow. Computer is off for the night. It might be my rig, not positive. Although it's crashed a bunch since the C-130 dropped, since that's all I've been in. I'll try the mission again i the morning and put the log up.

Most likely you need to disable raytracing in the special options menu, and it will be fine.

It's off on the C-130 menu thingy, LCTL+C. I have a 3090 but is still don't think it can keep up with new stuff. I haven't run raytracing on any game I play.

Training missions are inflexible and unreliable for learning. I have two hour daily commutes I could spend reading up on procedures and how to do things so that I can spend my DCS time flying instead of wasting that flying time sitting in a digital lecture that will crash halfway through.

Re-read what i wrote, please. Not off on the “C130 Menu thingy” ( i dont know why youd write this sentence that way, but its another topic).

Special options -> c130j -> raytracing option. uncheck that

Have you actually tried the C-130 training missions yet? They aren’t like what you describe at all.  They are short, focused, interactive, and incredibly different from any existing dcs training mission set.
