I appreciate that earlier in development the devs stated that the Herc would come with a custom navigation system, allowing us to program in departures, arrival procedures etc for navigation.

im just wondering how close are the including procedures are to RL.

Could I for example use my flightsim flight planning software to develop a route to fly utilising RL airways, waypoints and departure and arrival procedures and then input that into the FMC of the Herc?

normally in DCS we just plug-in random waypoints that pay no heed to RL procedures, but obviously the Herc is a different beast and I would like to try and simulate similar flight plans that I use in MSFS with it.

Granted over a significantly smaller area and restricted maps.

I just did a quick setup of a flight from Ramstein ETAR to Frankfurt-Hahn EDFH.

I could input the SID from Ramstein and route waypoints I found on the charts in my Navigraph app, but there wasn't any STAR's at Hahn.

They didn't seem to include airways, so I had to add the whole fix list manually. But you probably could use Simbrief for quick routes from the little I've seen so far.

i am just trying some stuff between bodo and evenes and there it mostly works, the waypoints are all there as far as i have tried, but not all star and sid procedures are available.

Here are some examples of navaids available to the Herk on Syria. All of these are real world navaids that you'll find on charts and they can be used by the Herk for flight planning in the CNI. I'm using custom waypoints at the moment but as you can see you can create some very complex arrivals and departures. I think if your goal is to plan and fly routes like a proper pilot you'll find this module incredibly satisfying.

Thanks for the answers guys.

ok sounds like the best solution is to print off my simbrief flight plan and then if the star isn’t included add a custom one using the correct Lat and long shown on the simbrief plan.

hoping to finally be able to test and fly this myself tomorrow.

starting with a basic re supply flight from Akrotiri to Incilick.

I noticed that some navaids are recognized by Hercules and some are not? Is there a way to filter out those from embedded Web Viewer that are not in Herc "database"? Or am I missing/misusing something here?

It is so great to use these, but often it takes a loooong time to find the actual usable navaids for STAR approches, flight plans etc.
