Hi, as I said in another post, my dad was a propulsion tech with the Hurricane Hunters, and worked in the -H and the -J before he retired. We were talking about the module Ghursday and he was telling me about Hotel Mode, where the props would be turned completely flat, basically the complete opposite of feathering them, so they produced no prop wash. It was handy for when cargo, wounded, etc. had to be unloaded quickly with the engines running, but not having to deal with the prop wash. He couldn't remember how it was activated in the -J, but he said it could definitely do it. Is it modeled in our C-130, and if so, how do you activate it? Thanks!!

G’day,

yes it’s modeled. When hotel mode is selected the props feather, not go flat, but I got what you meant.

to enter hotel mode:

1. Engines at ground idle (not reverse)

2. Enter LSGI

3. Prop control switch to feather.

to exit prop control back to normal.

keep an eye on oil temps as they can rise due to the lack of airflow.

cheers!
