Romanskik Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I am flying primarily in VR, needing my mouse cursor fixed and confined to game window (which works well!) I thought it would be amazing to ditch the yellow cross entirely (when nothing is highlighted) a optional or mod since the permanent mouse cursor cross in the middle of the frame somewhat ruins the immersion / experience in VR. Can someone help me with this? I tried a lot but haven't gotten far with adapting DCS in this way. Thanks a LOT!
SauroHD Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Hi, on my DCS, if I don't use the mouse after a few seconds, the yellow cross disappears. As soon as I touch the mouse, it reappears. The problem for me was finding the mouse when I reactivated it. Sometimes it's at the top... sometimes it's at the bottom... and it returns to where I left it last. To fix this, I created a voice in VoiceMacro that activates the mouse and positions it in the center of the viewer when I say "center mouse." It seems to work. I'll have to experiment more, but it's a good solution for me. I'm thinking of ditching the mouse and using the yellow cursor with VR tracking and mapping the mouse buttons, but that involves toggling the yellow cursor on and off with a command or keystroke; I don't know if that would be helpful (so you never abandon the flight controls).
Romanskik Posted February 11 Author Posted February 11 @SauroHD hey mate! Thanks for your help so far. For me personally, the yellow cursor disappears only on occasions and very seldomly, so this is no problem for me. I don't use the mouse either, I have left and rightklick mapped to my HOTAS and the cursor is fixed in the middle of my screen in VR. What I want to achieve: I feel like the cross cursor destroys my immersion in VR so I like to hide it (via ALT+C Mapping) It is very uncomfortable to always manually hide the cursor so I thought it would be a super easy solution to just hide the (yellow) cursor, when it does not hover over any button. (I will find the cursor for sure quickly as soon as I look around in the cockpit when it passes different buttons and switches) Do you think you can help me with that? Thanks for your reply!
SauroHD Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Okay, I understand your problem... I don't think it's possible to hide it when it's not needed except with a key combination, and... thanks for partially answering my question. Anyway, I'll try some new ways as soon as I can, but I think the simplest is to map ALT+C like you do, or a voice command, but I find this last solution too repetitive. If I find anything interesting or useful, I'll report it here.
