I'm unable to "in-game" program my stick,(won't sense any input) but I can use the drop down menu to select a button manually. Does anyone have a button listing for the X52 Pro? i.e. button 120=A, or 90=toggle 1. The huge list in the drop down menu is a total mystery. I've used the SST with mixed results...and can someone tell me if the landing light is also the spot light? I can turn it on, but I'm unable to move the light in any direction. Is there another light?

The landing light and the spot light are one and the same. By default it is looking forward, and to move it you use the same keys you use to move the Shkval combined with RCtrl or something.

I strongly suggest setting up your X52 yourself. It will be a hundred times easier to remember them versus if you used someone else's settings.

I have a few suggestions for you. First, keep all of the keyboard shortcuts as default. Use your Saitek software to bind keyboard keys to individule buttons on the joystick (so HAT 1 right would have the same effect as pressing "/", assuming you want HAT 1 Right to move the Shkval to the right). A few buttons you will have to use the in-game controls settings, but 95% of them you can do with just binding keys to buttons on the stick.

Second, take advantage of the multiple modes on the stick, selected with the three-stage rotary on the top right of the joystick. I use the first mode for combat employment, the second mode for regular navigation and landing and such. For example, the second HAT on the joystick, when in mode 1, lets me select the HMS, cannons, outer and inner hardpoints. In Mode 2, they are linked to the four autopilot panels. A few keys will remain the same (the black button on the joystick, for example, I use as trim. This is universal for all modes. The same with the pinky key for auto-hover).

Ok, i think you got an common problem whit your stick that it wont load the profiler correctly and thus your profiles don't work. To confirm this do the following.

make a new profile called test, assign some simple keystrokes to some random button on the stick. something like;

Button A: G

Button C: f

Button T1: 12

Button D: U

Button I: test

If you have done that safe the profile and load it. Confirm you see Test on the MFD

Now open notepad (or any other program you can type in like Word)

and press all the buttons, if the profile loaded correct you will see the letters appear, if it did not load correct nothing will happen.

Let me know what the results are.

Like which buttons? I also have the X52 and haven't come across any function i couldn't bind to the stick using the profiler.

If you tell me what function you want to have where i could try and help you out programming it.

the easiest way to tell which button is which button number is to look in windows control panel under "game controllers"....

Assuming you have the correct drivers loaded, you will see all axis and buttons in that control panel, each with a number designation, that will light up as you press the button.

FortunatelyI read this as I was on my gaming computer. I looked it up and the functions were "Release Weapons" (Space+RAlt), "Throttle Up" and "Throttle Down"

I remember I had issues with programming the release weapons function. I wanted the first trigger stage to be cannons with the second stage as secondary weapons, and I couldn't determine if I had to program the second stage as "Space + RAlt" or just "RAlt," and it never worked so I just did it in the game controls list. It works well enough for me.

The throttle commands could probably be removed and programed in the Saitek software. I was probably lazy.

And then, of course, there are the axis commands programmed in with the game.

Ok, ill have a look into it right now.

Do you have an x52 or an x52 pro? (just curious)

**EDIT**

Ok, i got it working, and not working on my x52 Pro

I first made an test profile to try things out.

Here it works, this is what i did;

right click the button in the profiler you want the function release weapons on

click new advanced command

in the upper (button pressed) row hit R-Alt once and then the spacebar once

right click in the row and select quantize time, leave it at 0.000 and press ok

give it a name and your done

When i tried this on my own black shark profile it worked, a bit

when i pressed trigger stage one, it worked normal

Then i moved on to trigger stage 2, worked liked normal and i thought yahoo it works so i released trigger and went on testing in-game

here the 2nd trigger stage worked only intermittently, so 1st press works, 2nd not, 3rth yet, 4th not and so on

So i weren't back to the profiler and entered test mode to see what's going on

1st trigger stage, works normal

on to 2nd stage, works normal i released 2nd stage but kept holding the 1st stage

now i used 2nd stage again, nothing, released 2nd stage but kept holding the 1st stage

now i used 2nd stage again, worked normal again, this keeps going on as long as i didn't release the 1st trigger stage

and i have not yet been able to determine why this happens whit one profile but not whit the other.

I have not looked into the Throttle Up and Throttle Down yet, you want these also on 1st and 2nd trigger stage but in different modes?

I hope this information is useful to you

(or someone else that's reading it)

I have an X52 Pro. There are only like 130+? choices to pick from to assign a button. I'm guessing that also includes the 3 modes. The control panel button numbers and the drop down numbers don't jive, as in, they are NOT the same. The POV Hats are the only thing labeled. See the huge .gif to see what I have to choose from. I don't know which button is which. I can't believe nobody has charted this out yet. The developers have to know right?

I have good news for you my friend:thumbup:

There is no need to know what button corresponds to the ID shown in the menu.

Thats also the reason why no one has started figuring it out yet.

Here is what you have to do;

go to options

Controls Tab

Search for the function you want to bind to a key

Under the row listing your X52 (has to be connected) select the box next to the above mentioned function (for example gun fire)

Now on the bottom row press ADD, the Add Assignment Panel will pop up

Now press the button on the joystick you wish to use for Gun Fire

the game now recognizes this and automatically selects the corresponding key.Button for you.

Now check if this button is not already in use, if its in use either press an different button on your stick or ignore it and press ok.

Theres only one problem though, all buttons have the same idea in each of the three modes, so you will not be able to assign two functions to one button

Good luck mate,

but seriously infest some time in mastering the profiler:smartass:

:joystick:It will be very handy to use the three different mode of your stick.:pilotfly:

You had my hopes up! My problem is...it doesn't work. Nothing happens when I push any button. It's not registering any input at all. The stick profiles are in the columns, but when I go into the add assignment screen to try to add something...nothing happens...so I HAVE to select a drop down to get it to add a button. It has worked a few times in the past, but never quite right. SST is my only option I guess. I do have the latest version, and I was using the beta. I even went in and deleted the profiles(except default) in the config/input folders. I think that fixed my problem last time. I even reinstalled BS and the Saitek drivers/software.

Right.....I guess this is where I confess to being a moron. I've been trying to map the stick in the rudder column. I guess that's why it wasn't registering a button press. In my defense, I know that it sometimes won't map at all if I don't delete the profiles in the config folder first. Sorry guys! I appreciate all the help, I knew I was missing something obvious. It was super frustrating. I think all that beer is finally cathing up to me. They both are obsured in the heading names. Duh! At least it's working now.
