Piotre Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Hi guys, I need your help here :helpsmilie:. I’m just starting with the sim and ran into this problem: I can’t seem to assign the axes to my X52 Pro Flight Controller in game (not using the SST yet) under realistic flight mode. What I mean is, if I go into the Option/Controls Tab and select “KA-50 game” from the drop down list and then click on “Axis Assign” box, I have no problem at all: I get five nice columns labeled Action, Keyboard, Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals, Saitek Pro Flight Controls and Mouse. The Keyboard column is blank, which is all right as I’m trying to program the axes, and the Flight Controller, Rudder and Mouse columns all show the axes properly as I want them, and I can modify them to my heart’s content. But if I then switch to “KA-50 Real” and click on the “Axis Assign” box, I get the same five columns, but the Saitek Pro Flight Control column is also blank, and I can’t do nothing with it. Nada, zip, nil. No matter how hard I've tried. I can fly in "KA-50 game" mode all right, the joystick and rudder are working perfectly and are obviously being recognized by the sim. It’s just I can’t use my flight controller in real mode. Only the rudder pedal are working there. I’m not trying to program anything through Saitek Profiles or the SST, just trying to get the darn axes to work in real mode through in-game axis assignments :joystick:. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated :notworthy:. Sorry for the verbose post, I’ve tried to make screen captures and only get a black screen. I’m running under Vista x64 ultimate, using Saitek X52Pro Flight Controls and Pro Rudder Pedals.
Sarge55 Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 It maybe you didn't note it above but did you select "axis commands" in the drop down next to "KA50 Real"? It think it says "all" by default when you initially go to that screen. You should then see your assigned axis for the collective, cyclic and rudder, etc. Select the one you want then the assign axis button. Hope that helped. Piotre Posted January 24, 2010 Author Posted January 24, 2010 Thanks for your help but nope, I wish it was that simple. Clicking on the Axis Assign button or selecting Axis Commands form the drop down menu makes no difference at all. I still get a blank column for the Saitek Flight Controller :(.
Piotre Posted January 24, 2010 Author Posted January 24, 2010 Just to clarify my problem a little more (I've finally been able to take screenshots). This is what I get under "KA-50 Game" axis assign: Note everything works at it should... ...and this is what I get with "KA-50 Real" axis assign: I'm really stumped here .
Sokol1_br Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Strage, your Saitek PRO Fight rudder show four axis in first picture: Joy Z, Joy Y, JOy X, Joy RX. Saitek PRO Rudder Pedal have only tree axis: Rudder, Right and Left toe brakes. You try CLEAR all axis in both modes and assign again? Sokol1_Br
Sarge55 Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Try clearing the rudder under the controller column and see if you can then select the rudder row under the rudder column. I'm thinking of getting CH pedals so I'll be interested in how this is resolved. Frazer Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Strange issue there, never had that before. What you could try is to go to: Ka-50/Config/Input/Aircrafts/Default/joystick and place the "Saitek X52 Pro Flight Controller {D5DF0920-FBE5-11de-8005-444553540000}.lua" in to the Ka-50/Config/Input/Aircrafts/ka-50/joystick folder. Before you do this, backup the Aircrafts folder. Forum | Videos | DCS:BS Demo1 / Demo2 | YouTube Channel [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Piotre Posted January 25, 2010 Author Posted January 25, 2010 Thanks all for trying to help . @Sokol1_br and Sarge55 Yes I know it's strange, but the "Ka-50 game" assignments are setup like that and they work like a charm (I can actually fly with no problem in "game" mode: throttle, pedals and joystick work like they should). I did try to clear those settings, but it didn't do any good. @Frazer You might be onto something here, however the plot thickens. This is what I get after trying your suggestion: Maybe I did mess up with the lua files, although I can't remember doing that. Would there be a way to reset all the lua files to the originals, short of uninstalling everything?
Frazer Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Well, what I always do after a clean install is backup the whole game folder. Then, whenever I mess things up , I can easily fix the problem. Also, you will never run out of activations (you only have 8 ). Anyway, I think a reinstall from both Blackshark and x52 software will be your best chance to fix the problem. If it works, never touch the "game" mode again ;) Forum | Videos | DCS:BS Demo1 / Demo2 | YouTube Channel [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
HitchHikingFlatlander Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I take it one step further by clearing all the commands and setting up every button individually on each controller. My installation orginally had more than one axis double mapped automatically. More piece of mind this way IMO. http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad
