I was wondering if the collective brake should be making a "clicking" noise similiar to the trimmer? I dont hear a noise therefore I was just checking, how to know if it is actually working, when I use the FD and it shows small lines under/over the 2 "side bars" and I push the collective brake they go away, is this the collective brake working? thanks all.

I don't think it's suppose to make a noise as you are just squeezing a lever on the collective. If you look down at the collective when you activate the collective brake you can see it move.

It is depand on technology. In Ka-50 it look's like we schould't hear any clicking ..... propably it works smooth (meaby... i'm not working on Ka-50 )

But you can check on the video how it work on Mi-24 :

or

Even if collective brake will clicking it difficult to hear when the engines run.

On mi-24 you can be sure that you can't hear any sound of trimm clicking ....it is too loud.

Meaby on others helicopters you be able to hear that but it depand on distance between

cockpit and engines.
