No offense to Cortex, but I really wish VRS would do a DCS version of the Rhino

That thought crossed my mind too, but I have no previous knowledge of Cortex so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and hope they succeed really well.

Does anyone know when the next aircraft for DCS will be announced?

You are kidding, right?

EDIT: They don't set dates for press releases.

They have talked to wags apparently and haven't made a decision yet. They kind of have their hands full with TacPack at the moment.

HOTAS: TM Warthog - Cougar \ HP Reverb G2 \ WinWing Panels

Tally: I see the degenerate commie who wants to ruin our day.

What is the legacy hornet?

The non-Super version, i.e. everything before the F/A-18E and F/A-18F. The wikipedia page summarises the evolution.

The single-seat F/A-18E and two-seat F/A-18F Super Hornets carry over the name and design concept of the original F/A-18, but have been extensively redesigned. The Super Hornet has a new, 25% larger airframe, larger rectangular air intakes, more powerful GE F414 engines based on F/A-18's F404, and upgraded avionics suite.
