Speed
I'm curious, BESIDES SMOKE ROCKETS, what other FAC options FOR SOMEONE FLYING DCS BLACK SHARK are there once it is integrated with Flaming Cliffs 2? Can I read out Lat-Long coordinates for the fighters overhead to drop a JDAM on, or is FC2 not realistic enough for that (i.e., no JDAMs or no way to manually input JDAM target coordinates?) Can I lase a target for a LGB strike? Anyway at all that I can feed target coordinates to the jets overhead? VTJS17_Fire
If you mean the A-10A, you don't have a aktive laser pod. You have no sniper pod and your pave penny is only passive (finding laser reflections). fire Hardware: Intel i5 4670K | Zalman NPS9900MAX | GeIL 16GB @1333MHz | Asrock Z97 Pro4 | Sapphire Radeon R9 380X Nitro | Samsung SSDs 840 series 120GB & 250 GB | Samsung HD204UI 2TB | be quiet! Robin_Hood
And, as far as I know, there is no in-cockpit way to give geographical coordinates. If everyone has a common waypoint, you could call a Bullseye position though (with the Bullseye being the common waypoint) 2nd French Fighter Squadron
Speed
Since this topic was moved, and not given any note on it that it was moved, it's confusing. This topic pertains to the Ka-50. I am wondering how I can serve as a FAC for fighter-bombers overhead. I do not plan on buying FC2, but my friends are, and I want to be their FAC. Just having smoke rockets and no way to call out lat-long or lase targets is going to suck. Maybe I just have to wait for DCS A-10? slug88
It might be possible to lase targets for Kh-25's fired by the Su-25. AFAIK Ka-50's can already do this for eachother in multi. Besides that, none of the aircraft in FC2 are modeled with enough sophistication for lat-long coordinates to be of any use. gekoiq
You can set up the missions with a number of waypoints designated as "Initial Points" or IPs. When in game you can use the map view and the distance tool to get a fairly precise location on the target relative to your current position. In the BS I assume you can range a point on the ground or target with the laser shkval. Go into map view and use the distance tool and use your heading and distance to target to find the area on the map. Then use the distance tool to get a heading and distance to the target area from one of the IPs. Call out the IP, heading from IP and distance to target from the IP to your friends in the A10/Su25 and they should be able to fly to the IP (waypoint) and use your provided heading and distance to target to find it. Awkward at first, but it's definitely doable.
