Tualatin
Hi all, I need tipps for nightflight and targetsearching. I don't see targets on the shkval :music_whistling: Is there a automatic-mode for targetsearching? I play in full simulation-mode. VMFA117_Poko
For night flying you need to change helmet mounted targeting monocle to night vision goggles. To do it you have to order the change via ground crew comm list. If you start flying after sunset you don't have to do it – change is done by default. To turn on NVG press H. To see targets on shkval you got to operate brightness and contrast knob under shkval monitor. There is no infra-red nor night vision option for shkval. Generally alone Ka-50 at night is blind like a mole.
Tualatin
I try to handle the brightness and contrast under shkval, but I don't see any targets. Maybe I'm blind like a mole too :D ... Nightmissions are hard stuff ... STP Dragon
A good tipp: If you can't see your cockpit after you join it at missionstart, you have to increase the contrast of your montitor/TFT. If you can see the contours of the switches and gaugs the contrast of your monitor/TFT is ok and you will be able to detect enemys by using the shkval. ;) Homepage: Spare-Time-Pilots DCS:BlackShark v1.0.2: BLINDSPOTs EditorMod DRAGONs ArmA2-Sounds DRAGONs BS1 TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK [bS & FC2] DCS:World: TM WARTHOG PROFIL FOR BS2 DRAGONs BS2_TRAININGPACK DRAGONs TRAININGPACK DRAGONs MISSIONPACK

VMFA117_Poko
I try to handle the brightness and contrast under shkval, but I don't see any targets. Maybe I'm blind like a mole too :D ... Nightmissions are hard stuff ...I said alone Ka50 is blind 'cuz Su-25 can drop illuminating bombs (SAB-100) over hostile area to help out with finding targets ;) Also keep trying finding combination of brightness and contrast on Shkval - not only both at full or null. Oh! I forgot! You can switch search light on but it's effective on very short range and you are at the sight of enemy like you've just turned on welcome neon "here I am!" :D Edited May 24, 2010 by Poko24
WindWpn
Quick question along the lines in this thread. What cockpit control turns on the blue NVG lighting? I see the switch down in the lower right side of the right side console next to the regular cockpit lighting switch, but when I flip the NVG lighting switch, nothing seems to happen? VMFA117_Poko
Turn on blue light switch up, turn off any other cockpit lights (don't forget about flood light behind left arm) and switch on nvg (H key). Just like this. Edited May 24, 2010 by Poko24
