Very nice movie indeed, and for those that can't read Dutch;

 

The headline in the newspaper @ 2:38 says;

F-16's intercept two russian bombers.

@2:43 you see a flag on the vertical fins of the F-16's

This is actually the flag of Friesland, a province in The Northern Netherlands.

(one of our Air Force Bases is located in that province, hence the flag)

Definitly good editing done. Music needs to be turned down or put a soft limiter to cut out the peaking frequencies. Maybe use some sort of camera reticule instead of the Dragunov reticle from ArmA :P. First impression was oh noes someone's gonna get sniped in lock on!

Because both previews are uploaded in mp4 format, the black borders are more black than it is in HD quality!

 

 

 

@insanatrix, thanks for the word reticle, now i can google for better images. Had no clue how such a thing was called and therefor you see the one which is use currently.

About the music, maybe it has something to do with the low quality upload. I am looking into it, btw, currently I have another intro song which fits better.

 

I am constantly making changes in effects and music...untill I am satisfied with the result. What I like one day, I don't like the other day. So what you see here is: very much WIP.

 

Now I have vacation, so unfortunately it will not be finished within 8 weeks. Still need to fly the arrival and brake over airbase, the rest is done. Currently the movie is 12 mins long. (it's very hard to find a date that my mates can fly too.)

To get these shots:

 

Slow the replay speed of the track down to like 20%. Then i move the camera around with that fov button on the saitek x52. At the same time, press zoom in or out. Afterwards I add some pan and crop effects to it. And thats it.

 

So this is only possible in stable formation flying because of the deceleration of the playback speed.

 

BTW, how do I embed youtube on this forum?

There was one shot where the position of the shot actually rotated around the formation, that is not a default view as far as I have seen.

 

To embed, you use the tags and put the vid id (the bit after "v=") in between the youtube tags. Last tag needs a [/] on it.
